I'd probably do an all-cat island, and my choices would be:

Snooty: Olivia and Ankha (I love them both)
Lazy: Punchy (He's my favorite cat villager, but honorable mention to Bob)
Peppy: Merry (She's adorable)
Cranky: Tom (There are only two cranky cat villagers, and I prefer Tom over Kabuki)
Sisterly: Katt (She's the only sisterly cat villager, but I do like her a lot anyway)
Jock: Kid Cat (He's the cutest jock cat villager to me)
Normal: Kiki and Mitzi (I love Kiki, so she's an easy pick. I also picked Mitzi since the normal personality type is one of my favorites, and she's cute as well.)
Smug: Raymond (He's the only smug cat villager, and I do like him)

My island is already mostly cats but my final lineup, if I went entirely all cats would be the following:

Jock: Rudy! He’s one of my top favorites now. He was my starter and my opinion of jocks changed because of him; I love him so much.
Lazy: Punchy is my #1 favorite. I love his sassy face, his facial expressions and his overall design. Lazies are my favorite though I hate the bug talk.
Normal: Kiki - she’s another favorite. I love black cats; one of my late cats was a black cat. I’d be torn though also with Lolly; I never had her before but I’d love to because I love tabby cats and one of my late cats was a gray tabby.
Peppy: Right now I have Merry & Felicity (who is just temporary); I love them both but I miss having Rosie so, maybe Rosie would be my pick.
Sisterly: Katt - I never liked her design much but she has grown on me where I’d like to invite her now.
Smug: Raymond - I love his toothy grin and grumpy expression so much; another favorite of mine. I got him from a trade on here .
Snooty: Ankha - she is one of my favorites. I love her design and theme so much.

I voted cats at first but then I realized that means I'd have to have Raymond who I personally am not too crazy about (too much hype over that cat), so then I switched my vote to squirrels but realized I wouldn't want to put up with Sheldon, and then it kept going that way with almost all of the species

I think I would end up picking either dogs, frogs, or horses.. but I'd really miss Punchy! If i made his catchphrase 'woof', would he be able to stay on my all-dog island?

Pfft, easy. I want an island full of deer villagers. Shino, Fauna, Diana, Fuchsia, Bam, Beau, Erik, Lopez, Zell and Bruce. Many of 'em are high on my overall favorite list. And yeah, I left out Deirdre and Chelsea because I like the other 10 more. Honestly, however, if we could invite more villagers, I'd totally be up to having Deirdre as she's kind of grown on me.

I'd have an all-deer island! It's actually something I've thought about doing before since deers are my favourite animal and I love all of the deer villagers, but I have so many favourite villagers of other species that I've never been able to commit. Maybe one day.

My all-deer lineup would look like this:

Sisterly: Fuchsia and Deirdre
Lazy: Beau

I'd go with penguins! I like penguins in general, I like Puck and Boomer a lot, I'm a fan of the penguin villager designs in general, and I feel like it'd be easier to make an island that utilizes them well.

Since other people have mentioned which villagers they'd pick, I looked through the list of penguins. Since I'd want an even gender split, all the female villagers are already decided for me (Aurora, Flo, Friga, Gwen, Sprinkle). With the males, most of my picks are either obvious (Boomer, Puck) or the only villagers of that personality (Tex, Hopper). The only real choice is between Iggly and Roald for my Jock, but it'd be Roald easily. I could definitely live with those 10 on my island, lol.

Deer! I love both Deer and Wolves the most out of all the species, but the wolves have less personality diversity - it would be a cranky ruled island

I do happen to love the hamsters and sheep. Unfortunately, the hamsters do not have a sisterly villager and sheep doesn't have a cranky (used to) or lazy.
