2004/5 bell tree fairs

We had an arcade like the 2017 Fair! In an era when flash games were the hottest thing around!

I remember making 8th place! There were rankings and prizes for overall points during the entire Fair as a whole. Can't remember winning anything notable myself, but first place got a free copy of the just-released Animal Crossing: Wild World!

I hope the arcade comes back for future events. I think I played Helicopter for 8 hours a day while that was up.

2004 was the first TBT Fair, but it wasn't a big event like the ones we have today. It was mostly centered around giving out item codes in the GameCube game and encouraging people to be active on the forum while it took place. This would have happened around the same time that the site was opening.

TBT Fair 2005 was held to celebrate TBT's 1st birthday and it was similar to the Fairs and events that we have today. There were various contests and small events, a scavenger hunt, and flash games like Justin mentioned. It was smaller than the modern TBT Fairs and also had much less participants since the site was still growing during this time.

One difference is that each event gave you points and there was a leaderboard with winners at the end. This is where Justin came in 8th place. The first place prize was a copy of Animal Crossing: Wild World, but the winner, who was a mod from a rivaling Nintendo forum, didn't really even continue using the site after he won, so that was pretty lame. Sadly, TBT Fair 2005, as well as some other event boards, were not transferred when we moved to vBulletin in 2011. Maybe we can figure out a way to bring them here in the future.

flash really didn't take long to die a dog's death, huh?

maybe my computer can stop telling me about available updates then
