Its confirmed to have fixed the duplication glitch, but please be aware that physical copies of ACNH can still abuse this glitch as they can delete update data and revert to Ver. 1.0.0.

Please be wary still.

Would their save data even work on an outdated version of the game??

Possible, items may just vanish from their file. As I said, just be wary as the glitch can still technically be performed.

It's a shame it didn't add anything back in to the game to make long time players want to purchase it.

I'm glad they've fixed it, I've been starting to do trades with people and I really don't want to receive non-legit items.
Thank you for sharing! Hopefully this puts a stop to most of the dupe items.

As with most multiplayer games: you cannot go online on an outdated version, the game will stop you. Local play, I'm not sure, but I wouldn't be surprised if they shielded that too.

thanks for the update! didn’t even realize the dupe glitch was a thing again until a few days ago lol

Wasn't everybody already aware of this though? I think it's been known that you can't time travel to experience events before others for a while now. They're all locked behind content updates, which imo is a good thing.

I don't know, I don't do it.

Wouldn't you need an hacked switch to preform removal of the Ver 1.10 patch?
Hacked switch users have their own form of duping from what I heard, and they can duplicate literally any item in the game such as stacked Nook Mile Tickets or Star wands.

I doubt they would dupe something as suspicious and extremely devalued as Royal Crowns & Regular Crowns.

But I can easily be proven wrong, if any regular user can cancel the patch (much less with possible major file loss.) Because I think you can't load your save if you already patched.

it's implying that even after you download the update you still can't TT to the event because the game can check what the actual date is

You cannot go online with an outdated version of the game, so I don't see why this matters. Attempts to abuse this will result in termination of your account as the new code includes checksum verification of the running code in memory.

Trading duplicated items would now require you to have two Switches, one running the newer version of the game, and one running the old. Too much hassle for most people I would assume given how much screaming has been happening over the One Island Per Switch restrictions.

That's good news. Though sucks Nintendo can't do anything about the physical copy cheaters.

However. Deleting update data can't be a good thing right? What if someone has DLC content in their town? Will the content despawn, or prevent the game from loading?

Or dirty money. Which is why I'll probably stay away from bell trading for a while.

Couldn't you remove the update, duplicate stuff offline, download the update, and go on online?

Removing the update will not let you load the save until you update the game! The save file is tied to a particular version ID. I had this issue with a Final Fantasy 7 cart I own, the digital and physical version numbers differed so once I used the cart the digital copy no longer worked.

Once you save the game with an updated version, you can no longer load the game until you download the update. Nintendo thought about that one.

Wow, that update took like a second to download. At least they won't go crazy with 0.0.1 versions. :lemon:

At least this also means the team is still very active and aware of the community.

I'm glad they fixed the duplication glitch.
I wonder if other things like nameless villagers would have been addressed.
