Is this thread a bad idea? Maybe, but let's make it anyway. Why? I don't know.
It's one of these threads. You know how they work. Also: For information or questions about the site and site policies, please use the 'contact the staff' board.
I've been for the username change for like a year and that opinion hasn't changed! I think I call you by your real name more often than your username anyway. It fits you better IMO.
Uh. I ask you silly questions all the time so can't think of any right now. Did you enjoy lazing earlier?
I might be biased but it has all the cool things. Highest chance of bear attacks out of all of the planets, but at least it has wifi?
Jupiter
This is a top tier planet. Storms that have been going for who knows how long, interesting stripey pattern, many moons, and a really cool name for a really cool planet.
Saturn
Feels a little cliché but with the huge rings, the hexagonal polar storm and the huge amount of moons, it's hard not to love it.
Venus
Is cool because of how in inhospitable it is with its gasses, temperatures, and pressure. It's like someone really didn't want us to go there. The idea that despite all that, it *might* have microbes on it is kind of exciting. Also it rotates the wrong way and has days that are longer than its years, this planet just does what it wants.
Mars
Gets far too much love. Sure it's neat that we have little robots racing around the place but let's be honest, when we visit we're going to have to bring all our cool stuff with us because it has nothing but rocks.
Mercury
This is basically the moon, just a bit bigger and close to the sun. We don't need it, we have one at home! There was a kurzgesagt video about sacrificing Mercury to build a dyson swarm and I think that'd be worth it.
Neptune
Aesthetically pleasing but so far away that it hardly matters how it looks. It could disappear tomorrow and I wouldn't even notice.
Uranus
Just looks so plain. I remember being especially disappointed by this one as a child, when I found out it's a gas giant and there is nothing to land on. I have not really learned of any redeeming qualities for it since then. Just an awful excuse for a planet.
Here's a little gif of the coolest not-earth planet. What is there not to love?
Definitely the events and other nice interactions. Banning bots and dealing with drama isn't exactly a fun pastime, but getting to interact with so many lovely people makes it 100% worth it!
Dream collectible, probably a star wand! I don't even have that much TBT though, so not sure I'd ever get one unless I give Jeremy the pleading eyes.
I think it's super unlikely that we are the only planet with life on it. There are just too many planets for that! Other life might not be intelligent by our standards and we may never even notice each other's existence, but yes, I think it's statistically very likely that other life is out there.

Thing is that I'm kind of used to this name too. I might change it at some point, I might not. The poll influences nothing.
Lazing earlier was awesome. I may have fallen asleep for a bit. 10/10.
Good question, I do not Despite how we pretty close and regularly interacted even in private on discord, he simply vanished there too. I still got friend activity notifications on my switch for a little while after that before he vanished from my friend list, so I'm pretty sure he's at least still alive, but made a conscious decision to break all ties with this site for reasons only he knows. Anything more than that, your guess is as good as mine...

Thanks for the reply. Hopefully he's out there living his best life. I always had this weird conspiracy theory that you and him were the same person but we all know that's just my brain making crazy assumptions haha.

I like the name Michel and Mick so I won't bring my indecisiveness to the poll. I will say I think Michel does make you seem more European because the name/spelling is not common in North America in my experience!
What's your dream for future space themed collectibles?
I joined in the New Leaf days because I wanted to trade. Boring, I know! I stuck around after making some friends, became mostly inactive around 2015, then returned for ACNH... I became a moderator about a year ago, because there were open applications and several people told me they thought I should go for it. I was hesitant at the time, and might not have applied otherwise.

That definitely makes sense! Mick was actually a nickname I got from an American friend who didn't know how to pronounce Michel. I then chose it for a username here since it's so short and simple
One of a few space themed collectible ideas I've had for a while: Black hole easter egg. I'm not promising anything though lol
What do you miss from when you weren't a moderator?
When did you first get into gaming?
Top 5 favorite video games?
What video game achievements are you most proud of accomplishing?
What are your thoughts on the Pikmin series?
Have you ever played Kerbal Space Program, and if so, did you enjoy it?
If the rest of the staff denied you of ever having a space-themed Fair, what would your next most wanted theme be? For the record, a space theme would be cool and I hope we get it as a theme for the Fair someday.
If you were forced to move to another country, which country would you move to?
Without looking them up, can you name (or try to name) all 50 states of the US?

Easy! Participating in the events, trying to go for staff favourites, and trading the collectible rewards. (While we do get/give ourselves collectibles after events, they are purely for personal use.) Not that hosting isn't fun, it's just different!
When did you first get into gaming?
It wasn't really a single moment/decision. It just started with Freddi Fish and Lego Island and kind of grew from there, really!
Top 5 favorite video games?
This is such a difficult one, I feel like it changes all the time... Games that currently come to mind:
- Bioshock
- The Witness
- Kerbal Space Program
- Rocket League
- Spelunky
What video game achievements are you most proud of accomplishing?
Probably some of the harder achievements in Crypt of the Necrodancer (although I will never 100% that game).
Also, for competitive games: reaching the champion ranks in Rocket League several times, and having reached top 1000 worldwide in Beat Saber / 25th-ish in my country (though not anymore, I stopped playing lol)
What are your thoughts on the Pikmin series?
I have only seen it played. I intend to try the next game when it comes out though!
Have you ever played Kerbal Space Program, and if so, did you enjoy it?
Over 150 hours! I am definitely looking forward to KSP 2 (And am really tempted to start playing it again, now that I upgraded my pc)

Medieval sounds fun. Or dystopian sci-fi future.
If you were forced to move to another country, which country would you move to?
Either Australia or somewhere Scandinvian. Probably the latter actually, I don't particularly enjoy hot weather.
Without looking them up, can you name (or try to name) all 50 states of the US?
I got to 30 before deciding that 60% is a passing grade. Sorry to all the people in:
Connecticut
Georgia
Indiana
Iowa
Maine
Maryland
Minnesota
Nebraska
New Hapshire
North Carolina
Oklahoma
Pennsylvania
Rhode Island
South Carolina
Tennesee
Utah
Vermont
Washington (Lol)
West Virginia (This is a separate state??)
Wyoming
What’s the last book you’ve read?
I honestly cannot remember which is probably not a good thing. I think it was probably the Java programming OCA study guide. Boring! I know.
Do you watch anime?
I do not! Some people (cough Pyoopi) have argued that I should, but then failed to come up with any titles that would interest me. I think that says enough.
What’s your favorite holiday?
The Dutch equivalent of Christmas, celebrated on December 5th: Sinterklaas. It's where an old bearded man in a red robe brings presents to every- hey wait a minute, this sounds familiar...
