Back to town again! I actually don't have anything to show you in my town today, but I do have something in mind for later. However, I want to save it until after April Fool's Day...
Starting my walk around town today, I dropped in to visit Walker. He was all excited about the next town event, which was a good ways off. It's not that far off, Walker...like a week? You'd better keep your eyes peeled for a faceless white shape-shifting cat pretty soon. Just saying. Making my way in a counterclockwise fashion, I soon found Apollo, who wanted to replace the desk lamp in his room with something else, so I made a mental note to keep my eyes open. I noticed I had a camper today, which turned out to be Klaus the bear. He said he was no one suspicious, pretty much cementing that he was. I noticed his catchphrase is "strudel". As someone who grew up on '90s toys, I guess that makes him the "Strudel Bear", instead of the "Doodle Bear".

Eugene pinged me, wanting to call me "Little S" just like Astrid. Not gonna happen. And yes, I have come up with a theory of what Eugene has been up to, but we'll get to that later. My streak of ore rock days have ended, sadly, as my money rock just gave me bells today...oh well. Mira was happily fishing near my bridge, boasting to me how she was going to catch a whopper. I headed to Re-Tail to sell some stuff I forgot to sell yesterday, and noticed the modern lamp I had up for sale for Savannah to buy back. Thinking it would look nice in Apollo's house too, I took it back to give to my resident American eagle. Back at the bridge, Mira was moping around. Guess she had a bad conversation with another villager, and I was too late to stop it. Apollo was nowhere to be seen, though, but I did find the soon-to-be-birthday cat, Lolly. She asked if I remembered burying a time capsule for her. I honestly don't. When you've buried like 26 million of them before like I have, it all kinda runs together after a while. Still, I checked around her house, and sure enough, I dug up a time capsule right near the mini-fruit orchard behind it. When I got back to where Lolly was, she was wearing Eugene's pleather vest, and they were both singing happily! Honestly, I'm just glad Eugene didn't change...finding pleather vests for him to change into this time of year would be a pain in the butt, as Gracie doesn't carry them right now. And honestly, Lolly does look pretty adorable in her new attire.

Upon delivering the time capsule to Lolly, I found out that it contained a painter's tee, which she gave to me as thanks. I found Apollo again, and gave him his new modern lamp, which he seemed to enjoy. As thanks, he gave me an editor's desk. Up by the train tracks, I found a lost item, and was prepared to talk to my villagers all over again. Fortunately, the book belonged to the second animal I talked with, Eugene. It was his diary! Arrrggh...knew I should have peeked inside it!!! Still, he was happy to get it back, and gave me a spinning wheel for my troubles. After finding the fake rock today and getting yet another ruby from it, Al pinged me. I crossed my fingers...PLEASE let this guy move already! But alas, no such luck. He only wanted to buy my ruby for 2,000 bells. I agreed, as it would save me a trip to Re-Tail.
Speaking of shopping, I checked T&T again today for something for Lolly. I found a kitchen sink which I thought might look nice in her house, so I bought it. I think it might fit in with the "kitcheny" theme she has going on in the back part of her home. Now I just need to check the guide to see whether she would like the mugho bonsai or the kitchen sink better, or if I need to keep looking for something. Back in town, Rosie pinged me by the plaza, and gave me an extra diamond tee she had. This is actually the same shirt she's wearing right now, and she mentioned buying two of everything so we could be twins from now on. Being just a liiiiittle too creepy there, Rosie.
After turning off the game to do some things, I turned it back on this evening. Eugene wanted me to deliver something to Punchy, who I remembered I hadn't seen today. He was in his house, and he seemed excited to get some sleek carpet from Eugene. As thanks, he gave me an office chair. I got an office desk from Apollo earlier...I think my mayoral image is finally starting to show through to my villagers. As I was organizing a few things in my house, who should barge in but...EUGENE!!! Dang, is he stalking me or something? Maybe he's onto my snooping!!! GASP!!! Still, he didn't stay very long, and also gave me a lab chair to do what I pleased with.
Anyhow, here's my theory about what Eugene has been doing: that bag I found of his that contained "valuable stuff" actually contained orange seeds, which he has secretly been trying to cultivate in his house. Unfortunately, the trees wouldn't grow, so he set off in search of better soil, which explains why I saw him around the sandbox with his shovel. Why has Eugene been trying to grow oranges himself, you might ask? I think he knows that Astrid loves them, as she often talks about the "unidentified floor oranges" in her house. I think it all started as a prank, when Eugene dropped an orange through Astrid's open window at night as a joke. Astrid, however, loved the orange as a midnight snack. Eugene, seeing she liked it, gradually came to realize his true feelings: he likes Astrid. That's why he's been talking about her so much lately, wondering aloud if she might have mentioned him while talking about her close friends. But he's too shy to approach her with his true feelings, so he heads to the orange trees near Astrid's house each night, and drops some through her open window as a midnight snack for her. It's a little creepy, I'll admit, but I think it's the only way he knows how to express his love for her. And in an odd way, it's kind of sweet.
Anyhow, that's my take on it. And with that, I end yet another day in Animalia. Tomorrow...who knows?
