Guest, you're invited to help build our new TBT time capsule! It contains three parts, with some of its elements planned to open in 2029 and others not until the distant future of 2034. Get started in 2024 Community Time Capsule: Blueprints.
Xenoblade 2 had a tough battle system. Enough so that people were making diagrams and guide videos online. I still got through the game. The battle system didn't actually click with me until 2/3rds of the way through.
The game didn't have a great tutorial system either. Because there was no option to scroll back and look through things. I still finished it.
Yeah, completely agree with XC2. The battle system is insane and you have to do things a certain way in order to deal more damage. I still don't fully understand it, but I may try to internalize it when I play again.
A game that I find too complicated? You know what game I find too complicated, or SERIES rather? Mortal Kombat. I tell ya, dude. No matter how many times I've played entries in that series I still can't get the combos right. I'll play against a friend as Scorpion for example and just keep throwing jab after jab without doing any actual combos simply because I can't memorize them. Even though I have good memorization skills, I can never put them into practical use in the game's battles because I just completely forget in the heat of the moment.
Not to mention I'm really not used to the controls on PlayStation or Xbox as opposed to the Switch. This is why I HIGHLY prefer games like Super Smash Brothers, My Hero One's Justice, and others for my fighting needs.
If anyone ever wants to whoop me badly in a video game, all you need to do is challenge me to Mortal Kombat. I will fail. xD
tbh i know this is kind of stupid because it’s probably a simple game for most people, but the murder of sonic the hedgehog. i played it a few months ago, i got so close to the end but i ended up dropping it because some parts of it were like a fast paced platform game. my reaction time is downright awful which is why i don’t play many games like that.
I'll be honest I found the tears of the kingdom too complicated. The world was too big, I had no idea what I was supposed to find when I got to death mountain. Went in, was too hot despite having heat proof clothes on, no suggestion as to the way forward, really couldn't be bothered to spend the time
Much prefer the simplistic Zelda, Pokémon, AC games where it's clear what you're supposed to be doing, ie in link to the past it was clearly numbered on the map where to go.
These developers don't realise people like me work 35 hours a week and don't have time to remember every thing for the next time I play
I'm a big fan of roguelikes and roguelites, but Noita scares me whenever I see people playing it. The pure amount of stuff put in the game isn't too overwhelming, but the way they all synergize and/or conflict with each other is mind boggling. One day I might try to learn it, but for now, no way.
I didn't drop the game but I think they made Diablo 4 entirely too complicated, like there's way too many systems that don't add to the fun of the game in any meaningful way. It just makes me yearn for the days of Diablo 2 when everything was simple and still a great experience. (Plus no micro transactions)
I never played Limbus Company. I saw the gameplay for that game, and basically just said "nope, gameplay system is too complex for me".
Yeah sure, I would like a bit of complexity and engagement in gameplay but this is too much mechanics for me. The same could be said for Library of Ruina. All Project Moon games look extremely complex so I basically conclude that not every game is going to be simple and that there were different games for people with different taste.
I hated the combat in FFXV. I don't remember if they ever gave tutorials for the different combos you can do with the weapon switching.i remember trying to look up videos and not finding any.
ZZZ to an extent. I basically learned how to use one character well but my brain just can't compute on how to optimize damage for that game.
If you want something new I'd honestly suggest trying Dragon Quest.
It's extremely simple. Even more simple than Pokemon. There are no battle mechanics to learn. It's just a basic menu system. (the newer games introduced a couple of extra mechanics, but it's nothing more than hitting a button).
The series was built on being very accessible and never changing that.
warframe. i always get hit with information overload and i end up closing the game after a couple of minutes LMAO i'm convinced it's just me because i never really pay attention and should probably start if i wanna actually get into it.
All games are too difficult for me. I'm very bad player... (Animal Crossing is ok, but terraforming is not)
I bought Black Myth: Wukong but I don't even dare to install it. It's not my type of game but I do like Chinese culture and language so... We cannot choose difficulty, it's annoying in my opinion.
I get angry easily.
Zelda is difficult for me too. When I first played, I got stuck in the beginning and had to ask someone to help. Then I read some guides on the Internet to find solutions. I don't play alone these games, I need a guide. All the time. If not, I'm lost, I'm loosing, raging. Not funny at all!
