Anyone else kinda off put by some of the omissions so far?

i refuse to believe any of this until i have the game for myself. they’ve added so much new stuff in this game that i’d find it kind of ridiculous to backtrack and take stuff away.

I've never cared about the gyroids but it just wouldn't be animal crossing without them. Idk why'd they would even think about removing them, unless they just want their game to be watered down and overly "family friendly" bc oh no something vaguely related to death.

I'm not worrying about these details at this point.
I think they made it pretty clear in the direct that additional figures will become available through future updates and that we can expect future updates regularly.
So yeah, just because some reviewers said that there's no Resetti, Rover, etc. doesn't mean that that won't change in the near future. It's possible that their role might be slightly different though and I wouldn't mind encountering them during special events (you only saw Rover at the very start of New Leaf anyway).

i dont really have any concerns because ive been waiting for a new animal crossing game for so long i'll take anything. it stinks some things may not be returning, but like others have said we'll honestly just have to wait till we see because the reviewers only had the game for 3 weeks. that's not nearly enough time to get a good feel for everything.

No, not really. The missing things can be added back as free updates in the coming months, and sometimes things just have to be taken out for something better to be added in, or just don't have a logical place.

There’s really no point in getting worked up over what we don’t even know yet, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: we’ve seen 30-ish minutes to an hours’ worth of collective gameplay of a game one could spend literally thousands of hours on. OF COURSE we haven’t seen everything it has to offer. If there’s no proof that points to something NOT being in the game at this point why waste your time worrying

I wouldn't confirm this just from reviews. Those reviews are just people who have played a few days. Who knows what late game holds, ya know?

Kinda disappointed in the villager cap, but it's not a huge deal.

I never liked gyroids, so that's a good riddance from me. They always annoyed me after it rains. I'd be trying to find fossils but would find like 20 gyroids instead with nowhere to put them. If there was a proper way to display them in a room (not in my house) then I wouldn't mind collecting them for the sake of completion.

My main concern is the lack of new villagers. Didn't New Leaf introduce a ton of new villagers into the game? I'm gonna be sad if the ones we've seen so far are the only new villagers. I mean yeah they can probably add more in future updates, but still, I was looking forward to new villagers the most :(

I wouldn't quite say put off, since most of the things that I'd be upset to see gone can't be fully confirmed as missing yet.
Overall I'm so happy with how the game looks—and more than excited to start playing it soon—that the few disappointments I've seen (or am now expecting) seem fairly minor.

If anything, I'm confused by some of the decisions if they do prove to be true. Removing minigames and something similar to the Dream Suite seems utterly baffling to me after how they've marketed this game in particular (I mean the strong emphasis on group play and customization/individuality respectively).

I really, seriously don't think they'd leave us without something like Dream Suite. Terraforming, outdoor furniture, designing our villager's houses... and no way to show them off?

Has anyone seen bushes yet? :(

i think the only bushes we’ve seen so far are in museum exhibits - i don’t think they’ve been shown on the actual island yet :c

They likely took away most anything eerie/creepy/malicious (gyroids, angry villagers, Resetti, etc.) and almost all of the old people (Tortimer, Joan, Kapp'n, etc.)
No touch screen designs, no keeping a tent for your home.

Those make me a bit heated, but I'm more than fine with 10 villagers. They just better have picnics like advertised 50 tiiimes

Well, in WW rover only appeared in the cafe every once in a while. Might be the case in NH too.

No collectible gyroids would be strange, considering that Lloid is still around.
Dream Suite may be available once your island is more developed, or in a future update.

There’s gonna be a huge update on the release date, and probably many more to come in the first year.

No, not a single one. I know people are bound to say that they're just not shown or unlocked yet, but at this point I think it's very safe to assume they're not included, and naive to be convinced otherwise.

People have played up to three full weeks of the game, and we've seen footage of different Islands (both "home" islands and tour islands)—why would Nintendo not have already included such a simple feature in the videos, or make it accessible after such a long time of playing, if it were part of the game?

I think our best bet is hoping that they'll be added via DLC later on (maybe after a petition to show the demand lol)

Even these game reviewers have only played the game for a few weeks. No one has seen everything the game has to offer yet. It's way, way too soon to worry.

I agree with you. Animal Crossing is one of those games where people/stuff takes time to get/unlock, so I wouldn't worry too much.

This isn't specifically just directed at you, since I've seen this comment several times today.
What I'm wondering in response to everyone saying it's "too soon to worry" is when it isn't—like, when is the correct time to worry? I'm being serious.

We're at less than a week before release. How is that too soon? Saying we can't worry until we know for absolute certain makes no sense, because at that point, it's not a worry anymore. Worrying kind of depends on uncertain circumstances, right? xD

To be clear, I'm not too worried about anything. But there are some things that, if truly gone, I'll find quite disappointing. These things matter a lot to me, and hoping they'll be there is just the other side of worrying that they won't be. As long as people aren't all doom and gloom, I think it's more than reasonable to be concerned for those features' inclusion.
