Are any removed villagers returning?

I know, months ago, we all spectated that maybe they would bring them all back. What do you think about that, now? I'm really sad that we haven't seen any of them return yet and I sincerely hoped they would. ):
I am not sure why a lot of them haven't yet / why they're holding back. I am still holding out hope lmao.

They've confirmed at least 383, which is exactly the number of villagers in New Leaf plus the extra 50 that they added with the Welcome Amiibo update. This excludes the special villagers like Wolf Link, Epona, etc. There will likely be more than 383 because of new villagers.

If you're wondering about removed villagers outside of those that were in New Leaf/Welcome Amiibo update specifically, we don't know yet.

I'm certain they will. They haven't stopped the trend of adding New/returning removed villagers in every Animal Crossing game. (Except Amiibo Festival and Pocket Camp) So there's a good chance of removed villagers returning.

383 villagers are returning with the version we get on March 20. Those 383 are known : they are the 333 villagers included in the Animal Crossing amiibo cards from series 1-4 with the 50 villagers of the Welcome amiibo series. That’s it. To those 383 villagers, you can add the handful of new never before seen villagers that have been shown in the last Direct.

So in short, no other old MIA Animal Crossing villagers are returning for now. That does not mean Nintendo will not add them back in later on, but for now, it’s not happening.

As I've said before, Meow, Bow, Nindori, Pierre, Shinabiru and Shoukichi were promotional villagers like Holden, Filly and the Sanrio villagers, so they're the least likely to come back.

But as for the other 67 villagers? I honestly think they've got a good chance to come back, given that New Leaf, both in its base form and Welcome Amiibo, brought back 74 VILLAGERS!

Yeah, her and Champ are why I usually say 65 rather than 67... but they could just use her Western design instead, like with Jynx in Pok?mon, who was redesigned for similar reasons.

Oh and like I mentioned before, some villagers will be cut due to having a new personality transplanted into them... So if the cut villagers that are unsuitable for their current personality from NL, that means villagers from e+ will take their place until the update...

I've never seen the old villagers that haven't made a comeback, but I wouldn't be surprised if they did make a return. Like a few other people probably have said, anything's possible.
