Looks like everyone supports the idea! I'm still just nervous about working around my fruit trees, money rocks, bamboo, etc. My town is a total mess though, some paths would help it c:
ehh.. i voted no because they were a pain to me. i always have someone new moving in too, so either they destroy the path or there's something in the way of the path. but if you're aiming for a nice town then totally go for it ^-^
They can be a pain to put down, but after you do, just stick to them and you will be pleased.
My town was turning into a brown wasteland before I put down paths because I never used paths before New Leaf, but in this game I really noticed a difference.
I wish I had taken screen shots of what my town looked like before I used paths, cause it looked brown and ugly xD But now all my grass has grown back and I'm very happy! Just make sure once you put the paths down that you commit and only walk on the paths!
Paths are great if you have a nicely laid out town with villagers houses nicely spread, my villagers are all lined across the southern cliff near my beach so paths are a bit boring for me, but I have a forest theme so i have 75% of my map covered in trees so the pathways make it look really good.
Yes. One my favorite things about paths is that once you get them set up, you can save the patterns with Mabel. You can then switch out patterns for each season, holiday, or whatever you feel like. Getting them set up is the time consuming portion of the project. Once that's done, go to town!
Definitely. I had some trouble with grass wear, but even one block paths have helped. All the houses/shops are nice and accessible and I still have plenty of space for flowers and trees. You don't need to go crazy with designs to make it look good, simple cobblestones will brighten up any town.
