Always have been, always will be......

Now I’m talking PITCH dark with no sign of light though. Not when it’s a “calming dark” with little candles and things like that.

I literally cannot sleep in the pitch black dark unless someone else is sleeping with me or at least in the next room or something. I get so scared and my mind plays tricks on me and makes me believe I am seeing things in the dark.

If someone isn’t sleeping with me / in the next room I have to have my salt lamp on or the bathroom light or something. I’m such a baby ;;

yeah i'm 21 & still terrified of the dark, i always feel like something is behind me if i don't have a light on ;-;
i live alone but I always have my door open so my cats sleep w/ me and i'll keep a nightlight on

I had been afraid of the dark for very long, probably longer than all my mates.
Despite this I used to stay up til 1am watching shows about real stories of people getting lost and/or murdered, and then I was frightened to walk down the corridor to my room. In fact I used to run and to always keep my back to the wall. LOL.
Don?t laugh XD, but what happened to me is that I read Divergent when I was eleven and at the time I used to like it a lot. In the books there are four factions which are: the clever ones, the brave ones, the altruist ones and the honest ones.
I wanted to be a true member of the one of the brave ones, then I started to face each of my fears XD
It can sound silly, but it worked, since now I don?t have the heart of a rabbit like I used to. Lol.

Ok, you’re adorable lol.
When you said back to wall I totally giggled because I always did the same exact thing!

I used to be so deathly afraid of the dark when I was younger because I'd always use Ouija boards with my cousins (im stupid i know) and I couldn't sleep without any light, and I would have to cover up all my mirrors at night hahaha.
Now I can walk around in the complete darkness just fine.

no i still sleep with my little nightlight on LMAO
i have this fear of someone stabbing me in the back (literally) and whenever i sleep on my sides i have to be able to see behind me

I definitely do. The only reason I felt motivated to work on it was because sleeping with the lights on was messing with my head and I was having trouble consistently keeping lamps or night lights around, but even then I am still pretty fearful and would like to get a soft lamp or night light again soon.

Kind of? I'm not afraid of sleeping in the dark (I can't sleep unless it is pitch darkness) but I am afraid of being awake in the dark. I'm always afraid there is someone lurking where I can't see. If I'm up at night and hear noises, I'm convinced there is someone in the house. Especially if I have to go to the washroom in the middle of the night, I literally start shaking. But I just feel better if I'm in bed for some reason

The dark is kinda my enemy in the sense that I'm night blind and tend to crash into obstacles in dim lighting, but generally speaking I actually enjoy darkness. I find it soothing and calming.

Yes, if you mean going into like a large ass house that is totally dark and you have no idea where you are or what it is. I do need the darkness to sleep though, I can't stand like flashing TVs and stuff when I sleep.

no I'm not afraid of the dark lmfao, I can sleep in pitch black but since I'm a fat mf & like to snack in the middle of the night, I need to see lmfao so I keep like a little blue light next to me
