I used to be mute as a child/teenager and I had really bad social anxiety, but as I aged I put myself in uncomfortable positions (joined school clubs, activities, forced myself to parties) and got out of my comfort zone and I've become SO much better at socializing and I realized people actually liked my personality so it even further made me be more extroverted.
But I say I'm in between.
I have no problem initiating conversation, I like meeting others, or even talking to others in general.
I'm shy in the way that I don't like to raise my hand in class, and presentations are still a mental nuisance for me. I'm also shy talking to my professors or professional older people in general.
But I do like going out and dancing and drinking and meeting others. I'm just really friendly lol, and the other day I made the first move on someone really attractive and went up and asked if they like a coffee. So I do have the ability to be extroverted.
Humans are humans, we all have flaws, no one is better than one another. If you understand that life is awkward and understand that having fear of what if's is all in your head, then socializing becomes extremely easy.
I! N! T! R! O! V! E! R! T!
The only person I ever genuinely want to talk to is my best friend. And I'm soooo bad at conversation and so socially awkward it's embarrassing.
I think I'm an ambivert? Usually I'm quiet and like being alone, but if I'm with people I know and am comfortable around then I become very outgoing and generally loud. I have bit more introverted tendencies than extroverted ones though.
but i do like hanging out with the few friends i have. (going to the cinema/having a meal out etc)
But i just prefer being on my own. Both jobs i have are on my own to, means i can get things done and not have to worry too much (i still worry!) i just prefer to be on my own. :3
I'm definitely an ambivert!
You're likely to see me hanging out with a friend at the mall, laughing and looking like the most confident person ever, and working in a group on a project and sometimes being the leader of that group, and confidently giving presentations. I also talk A LOT.
But you're also likely to see me make up creative excuses to avoid people and sitting quietly on my own drawing something or sitting on my phone. I love my own and other people's company just as much- I'm equally introverted and extroverted
