It looks like a cute game but I think with the release of Pokemon Go, there's a some overlap in the content (can take pictures of 3D Pokemon). I don't know if I'd dish out $60 for it. I think I might get Legends instead of Snap.

I'm excited and I'ma pay the price for it although I feel $45-50 would be more fair.

Yeah I expected it to be $40 at launch, but it's Pokemon so I don't know why I'm surprised, they like to milk every penny out of this franchise

The graphics look amazing, but is the whole game just taking pictures of pokemon?? if so $60 is way too much for just that. I'd expect it to be more like $34.99 MAX since all you do is wait for the right time to take a picture.

They should have made it into one of those point and click detective games with a camera feature and some sort of mystery to uncover. Maybe then the side quest can be to fill the Pokédex like the mainstream pokemon games, because by itself it seems kinda boring.

I have it pre-ordered and have definitely been looking forward to it.

As for the price tag...Nintendo games rarely drop below that $60 mark, so I never really considered that the game would cost less than that. There are a few exceptions with things like Nintendo Sports games...Mario Tennis, Sonic and Mario at the Olympics, Mario and Raving Rabbits, etc. But...for the most part, Nintendo games stay full price. Am I happy about that? No. But...I kinda just resolved to accept it a long time ago.

I have, and still play, the original. I love it, as it's fairly laid-back, but you still have to be observant to get the best shots. There's no penalty if you don't, though, as you can play through again. To have the updated graphics for this new game, I think it'll be even more lovely, and look forward to spending time snapping pictures of anything and everything that moves! :LOL:

I'm so hyped for this game, I hope they add a bunch of little interactions and cool attack effects

I am SO HYPE for this game, yo.

I have spent a disturbing amount of hours playing the original game. I used to play Snap N64 with my brother all the time when I was younger.
Nowadays, I play it often with my boyfriend. Over the years, we have revisited it often. Sometimes just the two of us, sometimes with our friends. We like to restart our save file and play the whole game from the start. We pass the controller back and forth and compete for better scores from Oak.

My brother paid the voice actor from the original game to make a video recording for me for my birthday one year haha. It was amazing. It was like "I heard you and boyfriend think you're good, and you were close, but brother is the real Pokemon Snap master!" etc etc. It made me laugh so much.

I'm excited for an update to the game because my vision has gotten pretty bad over the years, so N64 games can be pretty harsh on my eyes. The improved graphics will be really nice for me just speaking in that perspective.
As for Pokemon, I mostly want to see original 'mons again haha. I'm not necessarily a "genwunner" but I do like the older/original 'mons better because I know them more.
I mean, definitely send me into a field FULL OF RATTATAS PLEASE? :D

Anywhosy, needless to say, my boyfriend & I will definitely be purchasing a copy and it will definitely be worth the $60 to us.
I'm sure my brother will get his own copy as well.
The way I see it, we will put a TON of hours into this game.
Even if we somehow only manage to put 10 hours into the game, that's only $6/hour for entertainment. Which is less than the cost of a movie. So I have no issues with the cost. :)

I remember the little stickers for Pokémon Snap. Does anyone else remember those? I doubt they'd put up kiosks for that again, so I'm debating on a pocket printer for stickers, although it won't quite be the same.

I'm probably not going to buy it upon release, unfortunately, but maybe I can get it cheaper by finding a used copy when the time is right. :3

Yeah I totally remember those, they were at blockbuster, I wish I had one of those machines, they occasionally pop up around the internet for a couple thousand dollars.

I do! I miss those so much 🥺. I would have loved one of those machines for myself (if they weren’t expensive). The design was so cute.

Found this old commercial about it and got nostalgia blasted lol

They're so pricey! I wonder if they are compatible with more than just the N64 Snap? Honestly, they don't seem worth that much for limited use – although nostalgia revisited does add plenty of value. >>

Yeah I remember them at Blockbuster! I loved renting games back in the day. I think I actually ended up buying a used copy of Paper Mario 64 there. The good ol' days!

I'm not personally interested in the new Pokémon Snap game. I played the original on the Nintendo 64 when I was a kid and I thought it was okay, but it's not something I ever really got into, it's not something I ever revisit, and it's not something I ever needed a sequel to.

That said, I know plenty of people who loved and/or still love the original Pokémon Snap, and I'm happy for them and everyone else who have waited so long for a sequel. I remember people being disappointed that it didn't happen on the Wii U since it seemed like a good console to put it on, so it's nice that it's coming to the Switch which is of a similar design to the Wii U gamepad and which people can bring along with them while out and about.

As for the poll question, since Pokémon Snap is just something that hasn't ever really appealed to me that much, I wouldn't really want to spend more than $20 on it. Even then, I'd rather buy other games with that money instead.

Now that you’ve added the poll, I voted $60 since I definitely am planning on getting it, though I honestly prefer it to be $49 or less (even though it will be my mom buying it for me, for my birthday 😅). I personally love taking screenshots even in a game not focused on taking pictures, so to have one centered on pictures to me is fun and seeing other people’s shots of course since I am sure as in real photography, there will be so many ways to take a picture of identical subjects. I do understand why others may not like this and respect that this isn’t worth the full price to everyone. I do wish switch games in general were ten dollars cheaper at least.

My fiance buys me pretty much any game I want so the price isn't a big deal to me... lol

On a somewhat related note, I remember being so excited when Dead Rising came out because of the photography element.
My dad bought himself an xbox 360 and he never really used it so I brought it into my room and went with my friend to gamestop to get the game. I remember being so shocked that the gamestop employee wouldn't sell it to me because it was rated mature and I was only 16 at the time, that was the only time I had ever been denied a game. I told my friend's mom who was there with us and she bought it for me. The employee was like "this game is really graphic, are you sure?" lol

Photography has always been an interest of mine so I guess that's why the game is such a major draw for me
I really feel like the digital copies of games should be cheaper too, like you can't resell it that takes away so much value in itself.

I am so excited for it. I really don't mind if it's $60, but I totally understand that's a big obstacle for some people. I'm sure I'll be terrible at it and won't even know all the Pokemon, but I loved the first one. My expectations are pretty tempered, but I love Pokemon and I need a new game to play lol.

I'm really hyped for it too ;w;
I love games but my body seems to break the moment even slightly stressful mechanics are introduced so something v laid bad like this is ideal ^^ <3 The graphics are so pretty? And I just am baby and love Pokemon being cute okay ;o;
Considering the price though I will probably wait for reviews first ;-;"
