it's not at all what I expected but I am really excited for it. I'm actually glad that it's significantly different from new leaf, because even though I would absolutely love an updated take on new leaf it's going to be exciting to experience something entirely new. at first I felt a little disappointed, but after re-watching the direct and watching gameplay during the Nintendo treehouse my attitude completely changed.

definitely seeing more gameplay helps me get more excited. when I first watched the trailer I was shaken and was working off immediate impressions. but watching the trailer a few (much more than a few) times and the treehouse, I've been able to come around to it more.
Thats why I'm hoping that updates over the next few months will sway my opinion ~

Skeptical. It looks (and I don't mean graphics-wise, I do like the graphics so far) like a Spinoff of a Spinoff, crafting, why? Also, why does it gotta be an island? If it ain't broke, don't go tryin to fix it. I was never huge with island stuff, I feel this limits me on town themeing.

Also, it links with your time set on the Switch. So, no TT? Even if I do set the time back on my Switch, what happens when I go online? Won't the Switch clock set itself back to the correct time? I don't think the Nintendo 3DS systems do that now, but this is a new console (for me). If I can't TT this seriously puts a dent in my gameplay. I work odd hours and I don't always have time to play, esp around holiday times when work picks up.

So far the features seen keep me hopeful, but still. Maybe it's cause this is the first time I'm actually watching an E3 with purpose, because this is my fav game, but I don't want to be disappointed when it comes out.

I hate that I felt underwhelmed after seeing the trailer for the first time. I really love the forest vibe of ACPG waaay more than the island theme. I also hate that it seems like the Gamecube map is still the biggest across all the games.

I hope they show something later in the year to make me go along with the direction they're going with.

I?m really excited, I think the trailer and tiny bit of gameplay we got looked great. I always wanted full control of my town and now it looks like that might be possible! I also love how someone can join in with another joycon!
I?m only disappointed because I have to wait longer, haha.

They're definitely going to have updates in Directs later this year and early next year before the game's release. They will want to keep the hype up.

Generally the first gameplay reveal of a game doesn't show too much. When we get closer to the game's release, we'll probably see a LOT more.

I think people need to remember this game is delayed...I reckon they didn’t want to face massive backlash from us fans if they didn’t show anything at E3. The way Koizumi announced “the update that many fans are waiting for” hinted to me that they felt they had to show us something and what they showed is nowhere near ready. I reckon most localisation things are done but now it’s the graphics, features, gameplay and stuff that needs work - basically all the stuff we’re going to experience. So the infrastructure is almost complete but everything else is a work in progress. There’s elements that I love from the trailer and elements that concern me but then I remind myself that actually, this is the first gameplay demo we have - a lot can, and probably will, change.

When the trailer ended I was pretty disappointed. But the more I look at it the more I love it. The treehouse live also helped me getting even more excited. I personally love the graphics, even though some things look kinda bad like the river borders which make me think of Link's Awakening's remake so much.
But just give it time and it'll surprise us, I'm sure!

I had mixed feelings from the trailer but it grew on me the more I watched treehouse and then rewatched the trailer and treehouse like 50 times lmao. I think we all have really high expectations but we really wont know until they release more footage as the months go on. The trailer did ease a lot of our minds on certain aspects we hoped would return/include such as half-unit furniture movability, skin tone choosing, etc. but for those of us who love to have control over our towns, eg. where animals place their houses etc. the trailer doesn't really say for certain. I do like how it approaches the game in a way that you're really building the town from the ground up though. I had my doubts but I'm still super excited for it. I'm a fan of the series so I'll still play it no matter what and probably just adapt to it like I did for new leaf.

I'll need some time to get used to the graphics, and I'm really disappointed that it's been delayed, but overall, I'm super excited for it! They added so many cool things, and things people have been wanting. If they're still working on the graphics, though, I hope they listen to fans and tweak the style a bit.

Initially I was a bit shocked by the artstyle because I didn't expect it to have so many flat colors and shading but it has kinda grown on me already

I for one am extremely disappointed. November of this year will be 7 years since New Leaf was released in the eastern hemisphere. In the time it took them to create HHD, Amiibo Festive and Pocket camp Nintendo could easily have created a mainline AC. Now, we wait AGAIN while they ask for our patience. SERIOUSLY!!!

As for the brief video we saw, there wasn’t enough gameplay to determine whether we’ll have homes, shopping, fishing, etc...Two things did stand out during their 23 minute video, we can place items outside and we can play side by side with others. Aside from those two observations it looks like Pocket Camp for your TV.

The fishing and houses was being showcased in the trailer. It feels like you just want to be angry because you can't wait 9 more months. I would rather they take their time then rush the darn game.

Anyways, I'm hyped.

In a word—No. How can I like what I see when so far when we’ve seen very little. There are way more questions than answers.

Yay!!!!! Of course I am.
The thing I'm most scared of is the crafting aspect but I think it'll just be an alternative to actually buying the furnitures or tools. It's a cool thing to add as long as it's not the focus of the game, you know. But I mean it adds to the whole "build your island from scratch" kinda theme and I think it's cool, and I know I'll end up loving it at the end of the day.
So yeah of course very excited! Excited to see some new footage too because I'm impatient!!!

I absolutely love it! wish I had it in my hands right now.
But I can wait. :)

Can't wait to hear more information of it in the future.

Excited, really excited. The game looks like a new Animal Crossing adventure and I can't wait to
play it. Hope they are able to show more of the game in a next direct.

Homes and fishing were confirmed in the presentations, idk what you mean, and shopping was confirmed in an interview as being based on upgrades , just as it always has been. They obviously didn’t want to show too many features. The decelopers want to keep a lot of things for the players to discover after the release, so they show as few features as possible while still sparking excitement in the audience.

Just like in New Leaf where you can place structures such as the cafe, I am sure you will be able to do this and more in New Horizons. You cannot expect that they will reveal much, especially this early on.

As for the release date, I think it will be more than worth the wait. Especially from what we saw in the trailer, it looks like there will be a very large amount of ways to customize your island and a lot of in-depth gameplay.

I'm very excited. The deserted island angle is brilliant. And I love how you can place items outside. There's so much potential here.

The visuals are ok. It looks like New Leaf in HD. Nothing more, nothing less. It's not necessary a bad thing but I've been hoping for more drastic changes ever since I saw the Animal Crossing track in Mario Kart 8.

March can't come soon enough.

We've known since the game was first announced it would be a mainline game, if it didn't say it on the website somewhere, it says it in an email. I don't know how you watched both the trailer and the Treehouse video and came to your conclusions, either - the things you mentioned were shown. The only thing I agree with you on is that the delay is disappointing, but if it's as good as ACNL was, and I can play it for another 7 years, then I suppose waiting an extra 9 months is an okay trade-off.

Super excited! A bit sad we have to wait another pregnancy for it to release but I'm looking forward to all the echo's we are getting in the upcoming months from our little baby! (I mean maybe a special NH direct showing off more when it's closer to release).
