I would change the location of resident services is in my main town. Its a bit too clost to the airport so it all feels a bit crowded. I wouldn't change anything in my second town. When starting my second town I restarted until both were in good positions since I already knew what I wanted layout wise.

Where I have my main buildings I am happy with I did have them in a different location originally. I have since moved them to a much better location.
I made a islander home area but now I am not to sure if I really like it at all I feel like things are a bit too squished in that area and might look into relocating them to a much bigger area. Or even making two or more housing areas around the island.

My resident services is right in front of the airport. It's a perfect intro view to the island.
