I still am, but I’ve been playing New Leaf more. I find New Leaf to be more relaxing as you have less to work with on the outside aspect than to New Horizons.

Not to mention New Leaf has a way to play with strangers without using social media or here for instance.

I stopped playing around December. But before that I think I was playing on and off-ish from October-December and around March-May. Mostly to actually play the game the way it was intended to be played (decorating and terraforming) and I got a lot of the island done. But I stopped and haven't touched it since.

Before that I really didn't play all that much in 2021 because I was tired of waiting for a worthwhile update and even when it finally arrived in November 2021 I feel like I had already lost interest so it was too little too late. But I did take a bit more advantage of it sporadically in 2022.

Feeling as if Nintendo abandoned the game so fast while giving us morsels for updates didn't help with my diminishing interest. It really rubbed me the wrong way. I do hope we get a definitive edition to AC with all that worked with all of their titles either in late 2020s or early 2030s. But NH really didn't offer what I was looking for, so I didn't touch it as much as previous titles.

That's a very drastic yes and no split; I didn't expect that.
I kind of expected it to be 50/50. With this being an Animal Crossing forum it'd be kind of weird for the entire poll to be that everyone has stopped playing, but it can't be ignored that this game had the highest drop-off rate compared to any of the other games in such a short time.

I have been playing daily again since I restarted my second island in December. I haven’t been on my main island since then with lack of time to play both. Some days I only play for 30 minutes depending on how much time I have that day. I am enjoying this play through more then the first two.

I recently restarted because I was unhappy with my old island and hadn't touched it since before christmas lol
but I've been playing almost daily rn

i play twice a week and i still honestly ask how people get burnt out, i suppose after they're done with their island, because im trying so hard to finish my island now and i love acnh

I fell off a bit in 2022 due to a combination of working, doing other things, having a horrible island redesign I wasn't quite sure how to make work, and playing other games (finally unlocked bedhead, tho!) but I'm playing more regularly in 2023.

Finally got the area around the shop looking nice (although the area around Resident Services continues to look rubbish so I’m gonna have to work on that a bit more), am trying to get more of CJ and Flick’s models to immediately put into storage, also have a couple of DIYs I’m still after… but I’m mainly just playing to grow crops and dig up fossils at this point.

I am on the lookout for the announcement of the next game in the series, tho. Feel as if it’s coming soon, because I generally feel as if the Switch’s successor is being announced soon and AC generally happens in the first few years of a Nintendo console’s lifespan.

honestly, i haven't had like a random urge to play daily since the new year. i have millions of bells, all the villagers i like, my house is fully upgraded, i am content with how i have left the game. occasionally i play just to check on my villagers and to sell or buy items from other players, but otherwise, i don't go on anymore. someone else on this thread mentioned they are over the island life and i agree with that, as someone who started with ACNH i am ready to see something new and different

i haven't played for a long while....

i may play if & when i feel like it, though...

I play it more these days. I got a bit overwhelmed by it after I flattened my island, but I really wanted to work on it and actually experience my island looking more than empty.
I’m still working on it. I like the way it’s going, I just try and find ways to fill in empty spaces and such.

I do. Sometimes daily or sometimes a few days a week.

I’m trying my best to play semi consistently but imo once u get out of the habit of playing a game like this it’s hard to play consistently from then on. I typically only go on to clear out my weeds and talk to the villagers I see.

I will say I do play a decent amount when I’m on my break bc there’s just more opportunities to sit down and start playing.

I mostly log on when there are events. I've practically finished everything now, and the only achievements left are the crafting ones which are more time consuming than anything else, and not worth me wasting the battery for when considering the price of electricity in the UK that's just gone overboard.

I feel like sometimes when I'm playing ACNH I am like "Meh whats the point its just going to be the same stuff again" and then other days I am like "Oh I think I can do more with these decorations". I seem to have a mid life crisis whenever I play this game weather its just for dailys or just trying something new. Its random with me.

I honestly stopped playing consistently only about 4 months after the game was released, and I've never been able to really get back into it. I still play AC:GCN and New Leaf pretty regularly though, I think it's bc New Horizons lacks so much charm that the older games had. the initial excitement wore off pretty fast and I lost interest, and I'm honestly unsure if that interest will ever actually come back.

I still play a few times a week. I restarted right before the 2.0 update, and have been careful to proceed slowly and never time travel. I'm doing a "great amiibo playthrough", where I'm trying out all the villagers I have amiibo for - which is about 80% of the total villager pool. I'll have each one move in and see what they're like, wait for my opinion on them to stabilize, then I'll rate them and summarize their appeal in a word document before switching them out. I'll take screenshots and categorize them into themes they fit as well. This project is massive but also very fun for me, and it's been keeping the game fresh. I also started my project with villagers I'm neutral toward and will be doing the ones I think will be Dreamies last. So to get the villagers I want most I'm going through the other villagers first, and that's keeping my motivation up to keep going with the project to the end. I think I'm around 85 villagers in now.
Every now and then when another game I'm really into comes out I may not play Animal Crossing for 1-3 weeks, but then I'll come back and start my project back up.
I've also got a "World of Imagination" theme going, and I'm still periodically adding new sections to my island as inspiration hits.

I stopped playing for two years and three months according to my villagers 😂 but I just started playing again (had started playing and was a 479hr player since launch) and having some fun with it since friends have been on it too! It's just such a chore thinking about making my island pretty and terraforming and such...

I haven't touched the game for a week now. I guess I am no longer attached to the game.

Not really, tbh. I find the game too overstimulating. There's too much to consider and the breaking of tools is so annoying. To bad since I liked the graphics and some of the features. Might pop in occasionally to take pics, but, otherwise...nah.
