aw my poor baby :'(

Sorry, but no, it wasn't backseat moderating, and I agree with Fink. If anything, the moderators are not being hard enough on the topics posted in this section of the forum. Many topics that are hardly suitable for their own thread are posted here on a daily basis.

You know what...I am seeing an increase in backseat moderators on these boards since I left for vacation. This post is perfectly suited for these boards as it is about Animal Crossing and leads to a discussion on how to get the little girl one of her favorites back or a suitable replacement. How about the members stop trying to decide what is a valid post and leave that up to the moderators.

On topic, I really hope you are able to replace Apple with a suitably cute replacement.

I really just meant it seemed more like a blog post or something that belongs in a thread like "things that happened in your town today" If everyone posted a new thread for things about their game the board would be pretty chaotic in my opinion. I wasn't saying she can't post this or that it needs to be removed?

I was just sharing my opinion as you just shared yours. I wasn't trying to moderate the forum >>

Done posting in this thread though. Really wasn't trying to make waves so I'll stop as I seem to have done exactly that.

So.. this doesn't belong here because it's a personal post?

Practically every single thread in this forum is a personal post in one way or another. So if this doesn't belong here, then I guess the 90% of the threads in this forum don't either.

Maybe it's just me but I think threads should be more about open discussions and experiences and thoughts on the game rather than random posts about simple things that everyone will just reply something sympathetic or say congratulations and then the thread just ends up wasting space and disappears. That's what they have the blog tree for. If this forum wanted people to post small meaningless threads like this, they would probably have a sub-topic for it. And I don't even know what topic this would be. 'Losing villagers'? Not even sure. And see how this 'topic' has sort of spawned a new topic- what should constitute as more of a blog post or a thread.

And for experiences of the game I think there's even its own thread here where you can post what you accomplished or experienced in your town today, so I don't understand why people keep making separate threads for the same topic

this is all I meant, sorry for causing a debate. I am not saying anything personal doesnt belong here, this just didnt seem like a topic but more of a status update judging from the original post. Now its just completely off topic and I apologize for that.

I see where fink is coming from, but it's probably wiser to just quietly report the thread and carry on if you see an issue with it, rather than bring it up in the thread itself. :)

Dayna - Poor girl. I hope you find a cute new villager that she likes soon. =]

Also I can see this becoming a thread with meaning. Rather than only posting your experience with the 3 year old losing her villager, why not also ask the forum about their experience or if they know any smart young kids that also like to play animal crossing and understand it well? Something to spark discussion, something that other members of this forum can actually discuss among each other. Or if anyone has a young sibling that has a favorite villager. There are literally so many things you could write to make the thread actually meaningful and worth discussing but there really isn't much to discuss here, in my opinion.

Sorry if I seem like I'm 'backseat moderating', I don't think I'm going completely off-topic, I just wanted to say something that could possibly help so people will make threads that won't get reported; something that won't seem like a personal post but more of a discussion so everyone can talk.

Thank you! That is the perfect name for them! Backseat moderators. Wasn't really sure how to refer to them but yes I agree with your post because I have noticed that a lot on different threads. If you don't like it, don't reply to the post and move on. Let moderators do their job.

Please, guys. Just let the moderators do their job.

I'm sorry to hear Apple moved. Cally moved from my town and I was heartbroken. Hope you get her back!

Topics like these are fine. I don't really see a problem with someone wanting to discuss or share an experience that they had involving their personal life and the game.

We're running a forum for a casual game, as such, casual topics like this are going to be common. Don't think that just because you have a different opinion on the matter means you can call us out on not being hard enough.

Yeah I agree, those "backseat moderators" have popped up more and more since they opened up more positions for mods, it?s so annoying, can?t wait for the spots to be filled so people will hopefully stop doing it.

Good luck getting a new cute villager, there?s so many cute villagers in animal crossing, I hope you can find a nice one :)

I'm not trying to put you off or anything, but this forums is supposed to be for conversation about animal crossing. This thread and some of your others seem kind of unnecessary.

What the hell? This is on topic, it's about animal crossing.

Prof already said this topic was fine. Besides, if it wasn't right, it would've been locked by now.

There are some cuties like Apple. Flurry is adorable, I've had her.

Maybe you should get her a REAL hamster! They're so cute. ♡o。.(✿ฺ。 ✿ฺ)

You could name it Apple!

Have you even read the previous posts? "Backseat moderating"

I hope you find your 3-year-old a cutie! I have Flurry and when she moves out, I'll give it to you, free of charge!

thank you, I just realized people were still talking on here! like holy cow I never thought it would be such an issue to people that I posted this! I think people are really trying to get a mod spot on this site, so they are just going around in topics trying to police everything! I got tons of posts and I have been here for awhile and I do not do that :/
