Back to School!

Oh crap... This thread made me realize how soon school is starting... I hardly even noticed. I still haven't taken the placement tests or studied for them yet. And I still need to register for classes as well. ;-;

finally i wont have to hear those darn kids fooling around outside

Ahaha, now I can take my son to the park during the day without having to worry about all of the teenagers lounging on the playground equipment. I feel you.

I graduated last June. More than likely, I'll start college after Christmas.

School starts for me in a month and I hate it because i have to survive one more year in school but then i have to survive a few more years for college and im not ready to be an adult i just want to sleep all day ;-; Thinking about Senior year makes me barf

asdfghj just even looking at the title of this thread made me realize how little time I have left ;-;

my school starts in exactly two weeks. i'm starting my second year of high school and i'm not readyyy xD

I don't go to school anymore and am not currently studying but I normally *love* working at the start of a new term, whether I've had the school holidays off or not (depends where I'm working and what age group as only 3 and 4 year old sessional kinder groups follow the academic school year). If I've had the 2 weeks holiday off then it's amazing to see how much the children have grown, physically and otherwise. If I've worked straight through then I'm glad to be settling into a new term (and no more teens everywhere I turn..). I used to love school holidays and going back to school pretty equally as a child and well into my teens. Things only changed when my health deteriorated.

In Australia our primary and secondary school year is January to December, with around 1 month of holidays over Christmas and most of Jan. The year is broken up into 2 semesters/4 terms, with 3 sets of 2 week holidays between terms. Term 1 runs until Easter, term 2 until end of June, term 3 until mid/late September, term 4 until end of year for Christmas. While there's still plenty of whining from people not wanting to go back to school, I find that the length of terms and holidays works well for balancing the many conflicting needs. The break isn't so long that regression is going to happen - except over summer (Christmas) - as the term breaks are well spaced. It works.
