First off, sometimes I encounter these weird girls who try to hit on me or something. For example, one time I encountered someone and they said "Honey, you're home" I was about to leave just from hearing that, but I stayed just to see where this was going. When I went out of the hut, she said "you look cute" and then said "kiss me you fool". After that, I ran to leilani and left.

However, I have just today experienced am even worst encounter than that. I encountered this girl and she kept saying hi to the bugs. She said hi to one of beetles and I caught it. After that she started crying. I told her "it's not dead. It's alive in my pockets. See?" and pulled out the bug I caught. She then said "bugs should be free" and told me "release it". I then said "They will be free... When I see them." After that, she started following me and running to scare off the bugs so I couldn't catch them. I said "Why are you following me?". She then started saying "Fly away bugs, be free" I went into the hut to leave but she tried to start a tour and I said "no!!!" and turned my wireless switch off.

Poor you! Trolls are everywhere. I usually try to comeback if I'm in the mood of trolling but if not, I just disconect. c: Weird people outthere. That last girl made me lol so haard. XD I usually start saying random words when people don't undestand English or Japanese and emoticons. It's fun for me. c: Also I usually don't go to catch bugs there, just to do tours with people and buy furniture.

I'm sorry it happened to you but to be honest, sounds quite funny.

This is more funny than bad but someone tried to scam my sister at the island today.

They kept harassing her to buy their hat and my sister said sure because, I guess, she had bells to spare. When we were asking if he meant 4k or 400k he'd just keep raising and lowering the price. Finally he said 3000 bells. So she went outside, he took off the hat, she dropped the money, and after he picked it up he put the hat back on and walked away.

We just laughed and flipped wifi because he's clearly a horrible scammer. Only going for 3k bells and obviously having to walk back in and talk to Leilani.

I always get obviously younger players asking me for bells/medals/to buy them things/to give them things ect. I just leave. A trick I do is get them to pick a tour and then sit down, as soon as they sit down I stand up then they go on their own. So I am no longer being harassed.

I've had the bell-scammers before and I just think 'this is the way some people play?' I just couldn't imagine getting on my game traveling to the island just to wait for other people to show up so I could beg for fake currency.

I think its so funny when kids act like that.... The best thing you can do is play along, who knows you might have fun...

Yeah, I did find it a bit cute at first when she was having a problem with me catching the bugs until she started scaring away the bugs. At least I learned a lesson in this. I will never get along with environmentalists.

I still want this to happen to me... Every time I go it's either empty or the 1 person who is there leaves as soon as I arrive. That's why I never use ct, it's so boring lol but I'm going to try to go on right now and see ~

I had a bad expierence once. A man dressed up as Santa but with a Royal Crown, can't type his name because it was in Japanese, kept trying to get personal info from me. My full name, where I live, phone number, etc. I blocked him and told him nothing, h then proceeded to get an axe and chop down all the palm trees and scare away all the fish. It was then I left.

It's only funny since it didn't happen to me. If the dude scared off a gold stag.. then by Nook the guy would be going down

I had a great time at the weekend with a French girl/lady (we didn't exchange ages :)). When I arrived on the island she was trying to catch a shark and not being at all successful, so I offered to catch it and give it to her, and she said "yes please!" Sadly we then discovered that you can't do that so I ended up taking it home with me. We stayed on the island for quite a while, catching various creatures, and she taught me the French for 'shark' (requin) - for some reason I didn't learn that at school. My textbook was all about Yves et Danielle, who were the most boring people in the history of textbooks. I am pretty sure that I have never used a great deal of the French vocab that I was forced to learn (e.g. of book chapter titles - 'Yves et Danielle catch spies' amd 'Yves et Danielle go to the Son et Lumiere', zzzz).

I also met a Japanese guy who 'talked' in Japanese until I asked whether he understood romaji, at which point he switched to repeatedly saying "I love you" and following me about, keeping as close to me as he could. That didn't last long as I decided he was a bit creepy and left the island...

This is where it gets a bit scary. What if a kid didn't know better (though that is something you should know at a young age) and gave that info to them? Would the person call and harass them or maybe even stalk them? All because they got their info on an animal crossing game? Have to be careful with people like that =o I'm 20 years old and still get creeped out by people like that lol.

Whenever anything "dodgy" starts happening, I stay and make that person's life very difficult until they finally give up or turn their own WIFI off. If however someone started 'crying' because I am catching bugs then they will have really made my day ;).

I once encountered a nine year old who wanted me to be his girlfriend, it was so cute. I'm 19 IRL so that was so not happening XD But it meant my character looked cute!

On a more annoying note, when I was trying to complete the Mermaid series I ran into a guy who wouldn't let me leave, and he only spoke Spanish. So I abused Google translate and called him many, many names that were PG. Eventually we agreed to go on a tour and I was so much better at the tour than him that he ragequitted and left, so that's how I got rid of my annoyance: skillz ;)

The original poster's story is a great online role-playing experience, and makes for a great story. Don't see a problem there.
Personally I think Club Tortimer is a disappointment. I much prefer playing AC:NL with 'nearby' local players where I don't need to type on that awful virtual keyboard.

To be honest, I'm more worried about ending up as someone's 'bad experience.' Which is why I've never gone to the island with other players yet. My internet connection isn't very reliable and so I am absolutely worried that something will go wrong and I'll accidentally trap someone by getting stuck talking, and then they'll have to reset, then they'll post up on how I'm a terrible person who traps people on the island.
