That’s not a cake. That’s like calling Boston Cream Pie a pie.
I stand by my answer. I also assert that not only are you are objectively incorrect, but that you and everyone else who would rather eat a glorified sponge than sweet, delicious cheesecake are morally inferior to those such as myself.

Don’t get me wrong, cheesecake is incredible. I don’t even like cake. But even the cheesecake Wikipedia says it’s not cake.https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cheesecake

Out here with hot takes today, aren’t we?
Legally, only Pillsbury is allowed to market their products as Funfetti. So we have to refer to them as confetti or sprinkle cakes. But you can add sprinkles to any cake.

Funfetti isn’t a flavor. You can add sprinkles to any of them.
strongly disagree, funfetti/confetti cake is white cake with rainbow sprinkles - if you threw some rainbow sprinkles into a chocolate cake, for example, it is no longer funfetti. it has both a different taste and texture unlike any other cake therefore yes, it is it’s own flavor. i rest my case

What if you flavored the cake with an extract like banana or coconut? So it looks the same and has the same texture, but it just tastes different. Some people do yellow cake as funfetti. Are you saying funfetti can only be white cake?

Okay actually even Pillsbury agrees it can be any flavor.

lol whoops i don’t cross reference with pillsbury when deciding if cake flavors are real flavors or not, they didn’t invent cake. the confetti cake that i (and the people in my immediate vicinity) have been eating and hailing as supreme for our entire lives has ALWAYS been white cake (sometimes yellow? but not flavored) with rainbow sprinkles. the point is that adding a flavor just makes it a flavored cake with sprinkles in it, instead of confetti cake. by keeping the flavor of the cake neutral, the sprinkles are allowed to shine. i’m telling you that white cake with rainbow sprinkles in it is a SPECIFIC thing, and that is what i and most others consider “confetti/funfetti” cake. i’m done now, this was exhausting

Pillsbury invented funfetti cake in 1989. I thought that’s what we were discussing.

White cake is a flavor.
Yellow cake is a flavor.
Chocolate cake is a flavor.
Banana cake is a flavor.
White cake with sprinkles isn’t a flavor. You literally added sprinkles to any cake.

This is a tough call but I voted for ice cream cake. I do love chocolate cake, red velvet cake, Boston Cream Pie, and angel food cake as well. I have never heard of cookie dough cake, but I have to check that out now because I do love cookie dough.
