I honestly really enjoyed the trailer, it give me such a Super Mario 64 vibe, but I honestly hope it's not too short. Also the cats are too adorable lol

i'm really looking forward to getting it, i like how u can team up with bowser jr ☆
also i think i saw rosalina, she's my favourite mario character so if she's playable i would be beyond happy lol

however i'm not getting it at release since my birthday in literally in march, so i'm just gonna wait til then
it will be hard to wait but it saves me spending £50 😅

It looks really cool and also somewhat stressful, lol. I always like it when Bowser Jr. is added into the mix since he's one of my favorite characters but I sorta suck at platformers, sooo I'm not sure if I'll have a good time, haha.

She is playable but I'm guessing not until late game. I know in the original Wii U version she was unlocked after beating a certain post game level. I'll be surprised if they change this in the Switch version. Her spin attack makes her pretty much the strongest playable character so I can see why they made her post game only.

I wasn't going to pre-order this game as it came pre-loaded back when I bought my Wii U. I ended up changing my mind though due to it having online multiplayer and the fact that a bunch of my friends that I can't get together with in person want to play it together. It was ages ago when I last played it anyways and the new content looks fun. :)

I'm a huge lover of the Mario series, so the trailer made me pretty excited. I'm definitely interested in getting the game, especially since I've never played Super Mario 3D World before so it'll be a new experience for me.

i'm sure someone's going to comment on me being "negative", but oh well-

while excited, i am also... worried? for lack of a better word. i just got done beating odyssey (i'm currently collecting the remaining moons) and bowser's fury unfortunately reminds me of that game's world/level design, i.e. way too open and non-linear. 3DW hit the right balance between "sandbox" and linear for me, and i was hoping it would stay that way with the DLC but the trailer seems to imply that it's all just one super-sandbox level, akin to odyssey, and i just can't vibe with it. i would prefer if it was just, say, 3-4 more additional 3DW-style worlds with 5 levels in each, or something, as per the rest of the game, and i'm not sure why you'd suddenly change the level-design for the DLC to fit a different game anyway. why not save that sort of thing for odyssey DLC? anyway, maybe i'll be proven wrong, and they're all different isolated levels that just look odyssey-esque because of the trailer, but i'm not confident.

i'm also probably one of very few who doesn't want bowser jr. there, and i'm really hoping he's optional. again, however, not confident.
i'm also hoping the final "giant cat" form isn't exclusive to mario, and that you can play that fight with any of the other characters, who will then take that form. not sure why that wouldn't be the case, but who knows at this point.

the graphics and design are still gorgeous, as always, and i liked the little cats. (i noticed that they're the colors of all the other playable characters, and i wonder if that changes depending on who you play as.) overall, i'm just really hoping the DLC is more than that one odyssey-esque world, and lasts a couple of hours at least, since i had this game on wii u, and i feel uncomfortable paying £50 or so for a game i already own unless there's a significant addition to it. feels kind of scummy tbh.

It looks pretty cool. I have it pre-ordered...just because.

It probably helps that Wii U had such a lackluster existence. Because...I had/have Super Mario 3D World for Wii U...but, I probably didn't play it to completion, and all I really remember about it is turning into a cat. So...yeah, I'm excited to play the main game just as much as the new content. Switch is the perfect console to revisit a lot of these games that got passed over in previous generations.

EXCITED!!!!

i'm really excited to maybe get more interaction with bowser jr (i love him)!! AND BOWSER LOOKS AWESOME!!! plus it looks like it's gonna be very open world! AND EVERYTHING IS CAAAAAAATS!!! I LOVE THE PIRANHA PLANTS!!!!!!

It seems like one of those games that looks sick in the trailers, promotional art, etc. and then everyone discovers it’s trash when they actually get their hands on it. 🙂

Don't you think "trash" might be going too far?

Nintendo generally doesn't put out anything that is objectively bad. Some of their content might not appeal to everyone. But...Mario 3D World was a good game to begin with. Amending it with some additional content hardly seems capable of taking a good game and making it "trash".

Eh, 3D World was overrated at best imo, I’ll go in with low expectations. 🙂

I got heavy Super Mario Galaxy vibes from it myself. The latter half of the recent trailer where Bowser was revealed looked amazing. Everything did, really. It seems like there's plenty of little areas/islands with different themes much like its 3D predecessors, so I'm hoping we're in for a solid 10 hours - similar to Super Mario 3D world.

This looks to me what I would have wanted Odyssey to be. Sandbox levels but with actual platforming. It looks amazing! I don't really care for 3D World, though.

If anyone has gotten this game, I would love to hear your thoughts on it! I'm thinking about getting it, but I want to know what people think of it first!

I'd also be really interested to hear what people think of this game now that its out, I'm thinking of getting the game (though I'm in no rush) as I generally enjoy all the Mario games but I'd be curious to know how it compares to the other games, in particular does it feel like its very similar to any of the previous 'open world' games? Its generally an unpopular opinion but I actually prefer Sunshine and Odyssey to Galaxy but I've seen it compared quite a bit to Galaxy so wanted to know if they were alike.

in terms of level design, i'd definitely say it's more like galaxy than odyssey/sunshine but, based on the trailer, the DLC world looks like those more than galaxy. i haven't reached the DLC part yet, though, so i can't confirm, but i'm sure there's a video out there somewhere. i've only reached W3 so far, and the game is just as fun as the first time i played it but a lot easier than i remember -- though i think the post-game, and maybe later worlds, are more difficult. it's somewhat sandbox but with a linear path and clear end-goal for each level, which is something i personally disliked not having in odyssey. imo the best part is being able to play as peach (and other characters) as opposed to just mario, but i might be in the minority with that.

thanks for helping to answer my curiosity :giggle: its nice to know that so far it doesn't seem to be fully replicating Galaxy and I'd actually forgot too look out for videos on it (not sure how cause I often watch videos on Youtube about games I play/think about playing😂), so I'll definitely check out some gameplay videos on it to see the game in action. Clearer goals are also good, I loved exploring in odyssey but there were a couple of times I felt completely lost. Fully agree about it been good to play as other characters, I think it adds to the fun when you can be someone different to Mario and I love whenever I get to play as Peach

Downloading atm, is the game online more only with friends or is playing with other random people an option as well?

Also, its nintendo sadly, but is the online even playable if anyone was tried yet..??..

I haven't played much of it...but, I'm enjoying it a lot from what I have. I'm glad that it's a separate thing that is independent of 3D World. I find myself switching back and forth between the two games pretty often.

I have mixed feelings on it. It's fun, but I am not really a fan of bowser throwing a tantrum so often when I'm in the middle of trying to get something done. I LOVE all the cat designs everywhere though lol. It's so cute.
Super mario 3d world is one of my favorite mario games. It's a nice little addition to the release.

For bowser's fury specifically, you can't play online with friends.
For super mario 3d world you can play online with up to 3 other friends. I don't believe there's a random option.
