I have a couple extra characters I dont play muhc. As a result they are still at the beginning of the game living in tents. I'm trying to progress them at least some finally. What are the requires to buy the nook miles items from the kiosk? im assuming she needs a real house right(ive forgotten how to do that too lol)? anything else?

I don't recall the specifics either but make sure to do all the tutorials/requests from Tom Nook. Pay off your tent. Make sure to talk to all the NPCs (including those at Harv's island).

I believe to turn the tent into a house you'll need to collect 5K nook miles to pay Tom Nook. After that he'll unlock the Nook Miles machine (if he doesn't, try to use it and he'll mention what you have to do.)

There's some easy achievements you can do for the Nook Miles to get 5k quickly... like take a photo with the app, change your passport picture and comment, sell fruit, etc.
