Can you get DAL items by just visiting Harv’s Island?

I’ve been playing the game since it came out and I still don’t have half of those items. I want to finally complete the collection.

If so how many times a day can you visit the island for it to count?

Yes, but it and mystery islands only count as one total. You can visit up to five other player islands via Dodo and get credit for those, though.
