Which pet is better? Cats or Dogs?

Personally, I absolutely love both! I find them both to be lovable in any way. They're both suuper adorable and goofy in some way, and I live for it.

So, what animal do you love more?

I love cats, they're so fluffy and adorable! they're also so much more chill than dogs.

I'm not a dog person. I don't like it when they bark at me or jump at me and they pee and **** in other people's yards which isn't cool. Cats on the other hand are usually calm and polite.

I absolutely love both cats and dogs, and am planning to share my home with at least one of each at some point in my life. But if I was forced to pick between the two, I would say cats > dogs. I like their tendency to be stand-offish, and their ability (generally speaking) to be independent. I also find that most dogs have a musky smell that, while it isn’t overpowering, it’s noticeable enough while I don’t smell that in cats. Not a dealbreaker by any means, but those are my main points in favour of cats 🐈

i’ve only ever had cats for pets but i love both dearly; they’re both so adorable and such precious lil friends to have around ^_^

Both, I don't like to compare the two as both are invaluable as household pets  I remember having more than 10 chihuahuas growing up, my family ended up keeping 9 of them. We had them for more than 8 years and when we had to move countries, we found them good homes. Now I currently have 5 dogs and 4 cats, one of my dog passed last year from a tumor exploding near her heart and she died of internal bleeding. Dogs are very lovable and give you unconditional love while cats are sassy but I've grown to like cats more than dogs as they are considerably low-maintenance compared to dogs

I grew up with four cats, so I'm very fond of them and they are pretty easy to take care of, but I also love dogs too. Both pets make great companions and company. Whenever you feel down, both a dog and a cat can cheer you up instantly. 🙂

Both! Unfortunately, Gallows is allergic to cats otherwise I’d have a kitty to snuggle, but we do have a huge puppy. He’s happy to see me no matter what and likes to literally sit on my lap and be petted. We don’t deserve dogs for all the love they give, or cats for keeping us grounded.

I grew up with both, and they make equally wonderful pets/companions. I have cats now, mainly because I don't have the time to give a dog. I work all day, and when we're not in quarantine, I have meetings in the evenings. I don't think it would be fair to a dog to be cooped up and/or alone like that. My cats are indoors, have enough toys to be active, and with two, they have company (when they want it) while I'm out of the house.

I know people say dogs are more social/affectionate, but I also think that depends on the individual. I've met dogs who are a bit standoffish and cats who can't get enough snuggle time.

Both are great and adorable pets! However, they suit owners with different lifestyles. E.g. I plan on getting a dog (or two... or three) after I retire so I can properly spend time with them.

There are generalizations about both species, but at the end of the day, it comes down to their quality of training by the owner(s) and how much affection the pet receives. In my eyes, there are no bad dogs or cats -- only poorly trained ones!

It really depends on what you want from a pet. If you want a pet that's independent, calmer, and chill get a cat. If you want a pet that may be outgoing, active and attention seeking, go for a dog. This is 100% rule of thumb tho, my old dog was not friendly with all people and was very lazy, so maybe she behaved more like a cat.

Right now for me, I'd vote... Neither, if I were living on my own right now. I generally work longer days into the evenings so if it were just me I'd feel bad I wouldn't have the time to spend with a cat or dog all day. That's why I have lizards :) Reptiles, while they can like attention and being handled, don't nessicarily need it as much as cats or dogs do. Some actually prefer to not be handled or are mainly display animals as they are very fragile. We have two dogs as family pets and there's five people here in and out so they are rarely left alone. But the lizards are completely my responsibility, and they're good for me being a college student who works a lot.

Both are fantastic! I have dogs and cats!

It's fine to have a preference, but it's also difficult to generalize. My poodle prefers to be left alone sometimes, and almost never comes up to anyone for attention. My bulldog is very similar, too; sometimes someone sits next to him and he walks away to sit across the room. On the other hand, one of my cats is very social and constantly wants attention. My poodle and bulldog are much lower maintenance than the cat!

I think in themselves they're both great...they each have pros and cons.

But I voted dogs purely for the reason that I hate litter boxes and litter.

I’ve only had dogs as pets so I’m choosing dogs. Although, given the chance I wouldn’t mind having a cat too in the future!
