Are there any changes in general (like societal or technological changes) that you would have a hard time adapting to? If so, list whatever changes you cannot accept.

My take:

You already know how conservative I am, but there are only very few political changes that I would refuse to adapt to. One is the implementation of universal healthcare, and the other is the enforcement of political correctness in law. Those two I will not go along regardless of how normal they become. There are others, but I won't go over them.

As for non-political changes I refuse to adapt to, here are the few changes I will not accept:

1. End of diet sodas - there are some fast food chains and restaurants that I will accept alternatives when my favorite item goes off the menu or is out of stock while there are others that I would reject when they don't have my favorite item on the menu, but one change I will never follow is if diet sodas are cancelled completely. In recent times, sales of diet sodas are declining. If restaurants remove diet sodas completely, I'm never going to a restaurant again, or at least stop ordering drinks at a restaurant. I absolutely detest regular sugary sodas, and if that's all I can get, I am out of the soda industry. There's still water to drink, but I'm not going with sodas.
2. Video games becoming too easy with no challenge - if all future games follow this suit, I'm sticking with the older games.
3. No technology - if we have to go back to the stone ages or at least before electricity is mainstream, I can't follow along.

Coming to mind at the moment, living with someone so naturally angry. Didn't think it would be this overwhelming. I'm testing it out now here, and not liking it so far.

The possible chance that games will go up from $60 to $70.

The whole net neutrality issue; I can't imagine having to pay for things I already use for free daily.

If and when I'm working further into the business world, having to be social on the regular. Very difficult for me.

May list more in the future

This speed weed development with technology.. No I'm not gonna just touch my debit card to a reader without typing in a code and get hacked at once, nor am I gonna get random smartphone apps for the same sake (including mobile ID's) since you can hack them as well really easy if you know how to do it).

Also yeah I've pretty much refused social media... I think it's dumb and too many people abuse it. Yeah I've got Discord but yeah that's it lol. I would never get Facebook and those things.

Apple why are you against universal healthcare??

i mean to such a degree that you say you would refuse to adapt to it? do you mean you would go without medical treatment? why would that be??

What I mean is that healthcare shouldn't be free or government-controlled. No free healthcare doesn't mean no healthcare. But single-payer universal healthcare may mean no healthcare since it will result in healthcare waiting lines and more regulations on how doctors can operate. Plus, it raises taxes significantly and puts insurance companies out of business. That's all I can't adapt to.

I personally think it'd be better if healthcare was free for people who got into accidents, had health issues, etc., but people who brought it on themselves should have to pay (like eating bloody tide pods).

Yeah, true.

Also @ Apples why shouldn't it be free or controlled? Are you really saying "freedom to pay and be sick" is better. Yeah, well if you want gigantic gaps between people who can afford it or not, and not thinking of the poor ones. It's not that they want to be sick, it's because they can't pay because that bloody system. At least Obamacare was a step in the right direction.

If there is a question I do not feel comfortable answering, I have the right to not answer it. Plus, there's no need to be nosy.

Anyway, I'm going back on topic...

One change I don't mind adapting to is the use of smartphones becoming more common, even though they made digital cameras, maps, alarm clocks, calculators, clocks, watches, landline phones, and even flashlights obsolete. They may have been staples of our lifestyles back in those days, but times have changed. But as they became more dominant, they seem to be killing off other things that may or may not be related, which does bother me. Smartphones are leading to the downfall of indoor playgrounds at fast foods, happy meals and other kids meals at fast foods (which gives toys), legos, books, cable tv, and even retail stores. All of these are related to the change in trends. Some like the demise of happy meals I blame on freemium games (like Game of War and Clash of Clans) since that what kids like to play these days, but people have taken advantage of ordering online and digital streaming at home, which is why stores are losing business and cable tv is losing viewership. Granted, they have caused problems in the past, but I don't like seeing things that existed in my childhood going extinct.

If homosexuality was made to be a crime again, I'd probably just give up all hope and spend the rest of my life lying on the floor.

I don't think I could adapt to people around me being extremely low in empathy and critical thinking. That's a dangerous combo.

if my cat decides to play with his own poop more. im Done with it and i will not tolerate it ):< he put poop in one of his water bowls the other day. gross.

yeah if homosexual marriage was made illegal again i would loose faith in humanity honestly, also in my opinion universal healthcare would be a great idea. many other countries already have it and we need to move along

If my nation turned into a theocracy that would be pretty high on the list for me. The reason is not only because I'm not a Christian (the religion most likely to seize power where I live. It's always trying!), but because this would inevitably also eliminate the rights of women and LGBT people which I would not tolerate.

If Net Neutrality is really over altogether that would be really bad, too.

On a much lighter note, if video games really went VR or 3D with no option to play the games without. That will be the end of gaming for me.

Also microtransactions. If microtransactions slip into my favorite franchises that will be the end of those franchises for me. (I don't care so much about microtransactions in Animal Crossing Pocket Camp, because it is a mobile game, and TBH I expected it to be much worse than it was... What I'm saying is if Animal Crossing Switch comes with microtransactions that will be the end of me enjoying the franchise).

Digital/e-books only & the death of paper-based books! Paper books CAN be sustainable, and they feel and smell so nice ;_; If owning them were a crime I'd try to have the hippest secret dungeon library.

Yeah, if that change were to take effect, or if we attempt to go back to Jim Crow Era style politics or patriarchy, that would be extremely rough on everyone granted these rights over the ages. While I?m opposed to socialism taking over our nation (such as the implementation of universal healthcare, especially if the system was federal and if private healthcare is banned), I would not want our nation to go backwards on these progresses. Fortunately, you won?t see homosexuality or feminism becoming illegal again, not within your lifetimes at least, but unfortunately, people can find loopholes around these issues (i.e. the whole gay wedding cake controversy, new ways of limiting abortion rights) and still use them.

It?s also worth mentioning that if some concepts were set in stone for extended periods of time, it would be very difficult to adapt to changes. For America, it would be the Imperial measurement system, their Month/Day/Year date format, electoral college, and our free market system. We stuck with those concepts for so long that it would be troublesome to make any changes. For the world, I would probably say the current calendar system and time zones. A change in either one (such as making January 1st Winter Solstice) will confuse everyone, even if you wait 100 years for the change to take effect.
