I've met a number of famous people and actively talk with a few. I've freelanced in the media industry and regularly go to gigs in the UK and Germany, so it comes with the territory.

For a more natural encounter: I know the winner of RuPaul's Drag Race UK season 2 - I was a tutor in one of his secondary school classes.

I've never met a YouTube star as I don't have any interest in social media influencer's however, I've met the Finnish band The Rasmus on numerous occasions alongside the cast of Teen Wolf (the reboot) and Charmed (the original) at conventions over the years.

not me but my mom’s friend is a fan of kelly clarkson and she’s gone to a lot of her concerts. she told me she went to a meet and greet after the concert and kelly told her that she recognized her from the stage bc she’s seen her so much from the concerts.

also another friend of my mom is apparently acquaintances with tom cruise.

I’ve never met one in person but I’ve met a couple randomly while playing Splatoon 2 before.

One was Derrick Bitner from Good Vibes Gaming (previously GameXplain at that time). It was during the original Ketchup vs Mayo Splatfest. He wasn’t streaming though or recording that I know of, but I tweeted him about it on Twitter and he had confirmed it was him.

Second one was Renae Wittenkeller (wife of TheJWittz) during the Action vs Comedy Splatfest. She was definitely streaming at the time so that was pretty cool.

Unfortunately I was on the opposite team of both of them but it was still pretty darn cool.

YouTuber Crystal from SimplyPressStart visited one of my New Leaf towns a while back.That's as close as I got to meeting a YouTuber.I have met some semi-famous musicians in the past.

Not sure if it really counts as “celebrity,” but I’ve met more than several professional athletes in person over the years. I won’t name them out of respect for them, but each experience was definitely really amazing.

As far as I know, I've never had such an encounter. I'm pretty sure that living where I do makes it very unlikely. I don't really think I care to have such interactions either; I'm a fairly quiet and reserved person, so I don't know that I'd have much to say except to maybe a few people in particular. Otherwise it would just be like "huh, well that was neat" and that's about it.

Edit: Actually, thinking on it, I did go to school with someone who plays in the NFL. We knew each other vaguely but weren't particularly close, which is why it didn't come to mind at first. He's not a particularly big name, and this probably isn't that uncommon for Americans, but hey.

there used to be a con that was hosted in our local football stadium every year when i was younger, and i attended three different times so i had "close encounters" with a lot of celebrities -- doctor who and harry potter ones especially. i spoke with and received autographs from four of them too. (although i lost one autograph lmao rip.) before the pandemic hit, in 2019, i met my then-favorite actress three separate times and got to have semi-lengthy conversations with her as well as receive her autograph. (she's a lesser known british actress, so it wasn't too tricky.)

Oh yeah I forgot! I did get to meet someone in person once. I got to meet English voice actor Brittney Karbowski back at Anime North in Toronto in 2019. She is a very sweet and kind person. Her natural voice is just as cutesy as many of the characters she has voiced too.

I’ve met and know a few youtubers and twitch streamers. I also have met and had friendships with famous people.

I was a merch girl for a somewhat “famous” band about 10 years ago. When i say famous i mean they had a couple songs on top 40 radio. So they were somewhat well known.

i travelled with them for a year on a tour before i went back to school and along the way met and “partied” with lots of different famous musicians.

I’ve also just met celebrities through weird circumstances like randomly given meet and greet passes to Blake Shelton at a music festival... it was odd.

I'm happy to report they're still going strong as a band and weirdly enough I received a newsletter from them yesterday saying they had a new album coming sometime this year with a new single being released in the coming weeks.

not a youtuber but I met Jacqueline Wilson a few years back at a local fair thing, which at the time was the biggest deal to me because growing up I was massively into all of her books. I feel like I've had other encounters but nothing else immediately springs to mind

I saw Jenna Marbles in person with Julian who was holding Kermit when I was in college. They were in line for a touristy restaurant and I did a doubletake because I felt like I knew her from somewhere. I didn't do anything and we just engaged in an eye staring contest for 5 seconds until I continued to where I was going.

Personally, I wouldn't know what to say other than, "omigawd I watch your youtube videos!" which is like, how many times have they heard of that before?
