Collectibles Scavenger Hunt

Looking For: Collectibles in real life. Will trade for birthday tickets! Time stamps do not matter!

We're bringing back the Scavenger hunt for TBT's 15th Birthday celebrations! What could be more appropriate than to search for our beloved community collectibles?

How To Play

Posted below is an assortment of collectibles that you will have to search for in real life. Once you have found them, you must take a photo of the object with a name card of your username clearly displayed in the photo.

The photos do not have to represent the collectibles exactly. For example, you do not need to find a snowglobe with Jingle in it. However, the item must have clear similarities to the collectible shown (eg. colour / type / usage / shape)

You must find a total of 5 collectibles in real life to gain the full 15 tickets! Even if you can't find all 5, each photo you submit is still worth 3 tickets each, so find as many as you can! You can also submit extras if you think your other entries might not qualify, although you can only receive a maximum of 15 tickets for 5 items. You will only be able to get a balloon token if you find 5 of the collectibles.

The Line Up

Winter mitten, ancient candle, chocolate cake, red rose, june birthstone (pearl), apple,
red candy, popsicle, party popper, lump of coal, toy hammer, snowglobe

How To Submit

Do not post your photos in this thread. After you have found your photos, head on over to the submissions board and make a thread with all your pictures! You cannot edit or change your photo once you have submitted them, so please make sure you are satisfied with your photos before submitting.

Entries are due on Saturday, December 21 at 4:00 PM EST.

Rules

  • You MUST have your TBT username written on a name card and clearly visible in every photo you submit. No digital name cards. If you submit a photo without a name card, it will not be counted.
  • Must be your own photo/find. No collaborations. No editing your photo in any way.
  • The photos you submit must be physical items and not photos of a picture, website, or other digital mediums. (Eg. No photos of a cake mix box packaging. It must be an actual cake)
  • The photos do not have to be an exact representation of the collectible but they have to be as close as possible! No ridiculously obscure items.
  • No super zoomed out photographs. Eg. No scenery of a park with a rose bush in the background. It must be a close up shot of the photo.
  • No changing or editing your photos after they are submitted.**

Prizes

  • 3 Birthday Tickets for each object found (max 15 points)
  • 1 Balloon Token for 5 collectibles found

Updated: FAQ!

Can my rose/item be fake? Eg. Fake candle
Yes. That can be said for a "replica" of a toy hammer interpreted as a real hammer. Or fake pearls, etc.

Can I use a different coloured candy/rose?
There are quite a few collectibles that can be interpreted in different ways, for example the toy hammer and jingle snowglobe. However, since I specifically picked the "red" candy and "red" rose from the different colour collectibles available, I ask that you keep the colours for this "red" as well. The candy body/wrapper doesn't have to be red striped but it has to be a "red candy". The same goes with something like "chocolate cake". The cake or cupcake you post must at least have chocolate.

Will we be able to know if our submission is accepted or not and then be able to fix it?
I will manually go through all your entries in the submission board and reply in it whether or not it is accepted! If you miss the mark on some of them, I will allow you to submit extras! Just do not edit the original post as that gets confusing for me. I'll try to reply to the threads ASAP.

Does _____ count as _____?
I'm going to ask you to use your own judgement for these. Although there are certain things that I would disagree with if I think it is a bit too off the mark. However, I will allow you to resubmit photos by posting them in your submission thread. I will try to respond to each entry ASAP so you have time to resubmit. You may also post more than 5 photos if you think that one of them might not be accepted.

When will I get my tokens/tickets?
I will accept entries as they roll in, but you can expect to get your tokens around these times:
- Dec 17th (mid week)
- December 21st (end of week)
these dates aren't accurate but I'll try and get them out when I can!!

Good luck and happy hunting!

Danggg why only now! I just came back from the toy store today to do gift shopping and I swear I saw all these items at least once
Anyway this is so fun, I’ll just go to the grocery today lol

Ok but question: maybe I read the post too fast and missed this, but can we include multiple items in one photo? Or would you like separate photos of each item?

So...my toy hammer is one of those cheap $1 ones at Las Vegas. :p

I broke it and it lost it's cotton. Whoops.

can I use a real hammer, and do the candy and rose colors have to match?

Yes, I doubt a lot of people have actual toy hammers lying around so you can use a real hammer! However I’ll be stricter with the more common collectibles like candy and rose, since those have different colour options but I chose red specifically.

can the candle be fake?

That’s fine

I have an amethyst crystal, is it possible to use it? or does it specifically have to be a white crystal? those are quite hard to find

Can the rose be a dead rose because I haven’t thrown out the bouquet I got from my boyfriend like a month ago lmao

Oh dang it needed to be red hmm. I dont think dead roses are red

So clarification, for those collectibles with different colors (i.e. candy has red/blue/yellow etc. and rose has white/red/pink/blue), we have to get the specific color shown?
Because I have mittens at home but they’re not purple or stripe-y. But the mittens dont have other color choices so yeah.

Tbh you could go to the grocery store, you could already find a ton of these.
I think red rose, red candy, ancient candle, popsicle, and apple are stuff you can find in your local grocery!

Oh this is gonna be great! I'm literally going to a dessert shop today. I COLLECT SNOWGLOBES for crying out loud!
