Dear future me,

By the time you read this, you’ll be 24 years old. And to think that time is something that can be easily unnoticed. I hope you are doing well and have pet bunnies hopping around your home. I hope you still love everything you currently love right now. There are thing that are always in your heart.

Are there flying cars? Teleportation devices? Whatever new technology comes, you better stay true to yourself and always be there to help others when needed. If anything, the world needs more compassion, kindness and peace. True friends are hard to come by and you should be grateful for what you have.

Hopefully there’ll be a sparkling cider collectible by this time, if not go and buy yourself some to drink, sit back and watch the universe do it’s thing.
Enjoying the new animal crossing game? It’s nice to see this new one coming after several years.

2019 had its ups and downs but the good thing is that you’re looking forwards the future and learned a lot of valuable lessons. It’s nice to reflect on the past but not for so long.

Anyhoo, I think it’s a good time to stop here. There are many things yet to unfold between the day this was written and the time this is shown to you again and only current you can know.

Hi! Right now I'm writing this instead of doing my final assignment of the semester. The textbook on child development, remember that? Congrats on getting through that, it feels impossible right now. I have no doubt that you are still on TBT and are reading this letter, but I really hope you make more responsible decisions than I do!

Anyways, 2019 was a big year for us. It was the first time in a long time I felt happy and like I belonged somewhere. I hope you have multiple places where you belong, and if not, hold on because it always gets better! I also hope you are still working somewhere you love and staying true to your beliefs. And I really, really hope you are more confident, and your anxiety doesn't get in your way as much, and you have some time to relax and do fun activities. And I hope you have friends in real life! And if not, hey, things could change at any minute.

I'm sure there are things you want me to know, too. Here's your chance!

Dear Future Coach,

What are you doing for work now? I know that sixth form has already been a pain ('Snacking' on economics takes the cake for the most annoying phrase), but how were the final exams? Who do you still talk to from school? Did you get an apprenticeship and decide where to live? Is it even still in the UK?

Now, onto even more general quickfire questions. Is the games backlog just as huge as it has been now? The new ps4 won't have helped with that I assume! Did you get around to buying Mario party 3 yet? Is Dead by Daylight still going? How was/is new horizons? Is the NHS still standing? How is driving? Daily life driven you insane yet?

Dear 2024 Avery...

I’m writing this to you as an 18 year old who is going on 19! What do you plan on doing with your life, eh? That mini stroke I had while I was a HHA certainly didn’t do you any justice, huh? You’re gonna be 23... wow! Almost 24. And you’ll be remembering things like you’re 90. I hope you go to school or something, or at least do something meaningful with your life. It would be awesome to see you succeed and prove everyone in your family who deemed you a failure wrong. You’re hopefully going to be doing very great things by the time the capsule is unlocked for all of us to see.

I really pray you’re doing well. I also pray you are still with Joey by the time you read this. I really love him, so I hope future me doesn’t mess up on the relationship current me has with him now. Him and I are very happy, so I hope future me will be even happier knowing they’ve been with their significant for so long. I also hope you are doing well during the holiday season! Please still have an awesome relationship with my dad, my mom, and my brothers, oh! And my sister, Azzy, too. What’s your other sister, Kelci, up to these days? What about her daughter...?

Well, I truly hope by the time you read this again, you’ll have acquired your dream lineup! Love Balls all around! Oh, and some sweet feathers. This is a dream pretty much out of reach, but if you managed to live a long 23-24 years you didn’t even ask to live, you can definitely achieve this dream lineup! You can do it, dude!

Dear Future Me,

By now you're hopefully graduated from college. You've suffered through countless presentations and papers, as well as student teaching and job searches. I hope you have a teaching job in an elementary school, especially kindergarten or 1st grade. Maybe you'll have a boyfriend and a living space of your own. I hope time has been kind to you. We both know you'll still visit TBT, so seeing this letter is a realistic goal. No matter what, just keep pushing forward.

As for me, I'm 20 years old. I'm a junior in college. As a matter of fact, I just finished up my 2019 Fall Semester. My biggest passions are playing piano and video games. Last semester I worked on Intermezzo in A major, Op 118 No 2 by Brahms, and Waltz Op 34 No 1 by Chopin. My jury went pretty well but I think I played wonderfully at the recital a few weeks prior. Next semester, I'm working on the Pathetique Sonata by Beethoven (gonna try to play the whole sonata even though my prof told me to choose either the first or third movement), an Etude by Chopin (not sure which one yet, I need to pick it out), and a piece by Liszt that I'm not sure about yet. I've been practicing the first movement of the Pathetique sonata today, and I'm doing pretty well so far! Even though the constant octaves happening in the left hand kinda kill my wrist lol.

As for video games, it's kinda interesting. I just recently got a copy of Let's Go Eevee for Switch, bumping my library up to a grand whopping two games! Been shiny hunting on there, although I've only found a Ponyta so far. I think I'm like 28 hours into the game and I still haven't beaten it lmao. I'm planning on buying Luigi's Mansion 3 at some point, haven't had a chance to play it but it looks really great. I'm also really excited about playing Animal Crossing and the Spongebob BFBB remake next year!
I'm still collecting older games n stuff, cause I love that kind of thing. A few months ago I bought a copy of Banjo-Kazooie for N64 and I've been having fun with that. I've also been obsessed with collectible figurines and amiibos too. I recently got a raccoon Mario figurine from like Walmart or something, and I absolutely love it!

Enough about that though. I'd like to know how far you've come in life...
- Are you still living with your parents? I really would like to move out and get my own place. Living with my dad is awful. I'm hoping that I can start living on my own once I graduate in a year and a half.
- Do you have your license? This should be a no-brainer, you better have it!!!
- How were your last three semesters of college? I hope they went really well, and that you didn't work yourself to death like you have been.
- In speaking of mental health, how is it? I'm really hoping that you haven't let your mental health deteriorate any more than it already has. I hope you've found peace and happiness in the new life you've built for yourself.
- How's your online friend? Do you still talk to him? Have you met him in person yet?
- I know this is prob a bit personal, but have you found a boyfriend yet? I mean yeah, I know that you prob live with your cats and that they're all you need, but I secretly hope that you don't end up living alone, without anyone there to truly really care for you (besides your mother lol).
- How's your physical health? Right now I'm 5'3", and I weigh about 167 lbs. I know that seems like a lot, but I promise I'm not overweight. I would like to work on building my armstrength, flexibility, and losing any fat in my torso.
- How are your piano studies going? I know it's been five years, so you're probably really good by now.
- What kind of job are you working at? Right now I would love to be a piano teacher or a performer, but I'm not exactly sure what I'll be doing. Heck, even if I started out working a different job and worked my way up that'd be fine.
-How are your German studies? I would love to become fluent in it. I just finished up my first semester and I'm super excited to continue!
- How is your mom? I know her health is pretty bad, but hopefully she's doing better now and is able to get up and exercise and not get sick constantly.
- How are your kitties? Right now I had Molly, Feef (Felix), Ash, and Xander (my mums cat). I don't have a dog yet. Molly is six and a half years old, Xander is two and a half years old, and the young bois are about a year old now. Also, I'm still hurt about what happened to Daisy. How do you feel about her now?
- Did you end up going to graduate school? If so, did you get your masters degree? If not, what did you do instead? Personally I'll support you no matter what you do <3
- How is your vintage collection coming? Did you ever get a landline for your rotary phone? Better yet, does the rotary phone even work? (I haven't tested it out yet lol). Do you still have a CRT and watch movies on outdated video formats such as VHS? How many records do you have now? How many VHS tapes do you have?
- How long is your hair? Right now mine is like 3 inches past my waist lol. Hopefully you were able to get it styled so it doesn't look like crap all the time.
- What's the internet/modern tech scene like? Right now, the newest phones are the Samsung Galaxy S9 (I believe?) and the iPhone 11. Streamed gaming (like the Google Stadia) is not quite a thing yet. The newest games consoles are the Switch, Xbox One X, and PS4, and they're gonna release a new Xbox and the PS5 soon. Digital cable is still a thing, but I'm not sure how much longer it will be a thing (rip). There are no self-driving cars that are readily available to the public yet. I'm still using Windows 7 on my laptop, even though Windows 10 is the newest OS for windows rn. I still regularly play my 3DS, even though it recently "died". Idk much else about modern tech lol
- What kind of phone do you have? I have a Samsung Galaxy S7.
- Are you still as quirky as ever? Like I know that you're like 25 years old, but do you still feel like you act a bit weird for your age? (Obv can't blame yourself for that, it's the stupid aspergers thingy). Do you still struggle with ADD? Have you learned to live with it or are you taking medication for it? Are you still taking anxiety medication?
- How do you feel your life is compared to 2019? Hopefully it's a lot better. Right now, I'm really want to get my license and move out of my parents' house. I want to get a stable job that makes a decent amount of money so I can get an apartment somewhere.

I know these are a ton of questions. I have a lot more but I figure that this is enough to suffice. Just remember to take good care of yourself. Don't work yourself to death. Don't give in to what your dad wants you to do, he shouldn't have control over you anyways. Don't be afraid to say no to something if you're too busy or not in the right mental state of mind to do it. Please! Take care of yourself!!!


Also I really hope that at some point between now and then you got yourself a Waluigi plushie lmao

Dear Future Me,

How's TADA doing? We're probably super huge by now with tons of members so I hope you're not too busy. Make sure to always thank the staff for their hard work and tell them that past Katsura said thanks aswell. Anyways, I hope you're liking that love ball in your lineup because lots of people worked hard to get it there. While you're thanking your staff, going ahead and thank all the lovely people that decided to help. Good friends are hard to come by and that's why it's so weird that I seemed to be surrounded by them :blush: I hope you never stop making friends! Never stop being the positive light in people's lives!

If by any chance you're feeling down and life isn't going exactly the way you'd like, just know that your past self is rooting for you! Go ahead and give your past self a hug :D

how you doing, you nerd? I hope you doing good, didn't mess up too much, got the job that makes you happy, still enjoying your hobbies a lot... You know, there are so many questions I want to ask you, like is dad okay, are the cats okay, are you okay, how did Steven Universe Future ended, did you managed to get a driver's license... But I think that this would be too time consuming to ask them all now. It's night time here, I'm tired and yet I'm sitting here in front of my laptop, writing you this letter. Like who needs sleep, right? Actually, I need sleep, so do you, but whatever. Anyway, I will make this short, since I'm terrible in writing letters (maybe you became better in this by now?). I just hope that life didn't became harder for you and that you have lots of happiness, enjoying every moment as much as you can. Just do me a favor and stay save and sound, okay? Thanks.

How's it goin in the year 2024 so far?

2019 has had it's ups and downs, and it's easy to focus on the negative and forget about the positive, but let's try to remember we do actually have nice people around us and try not to dwell on all the bad influences and stress in our lives. Remember that saying, 'everything changes, nothing stays the same'. Just keep telling yourself that, cause you know it's true. If you feel like somethin isn't changing fast enough or is changing for the worse, make the change you want, even if thay means leaving and making other people scramble to pick up the pieces.

I hope the year 2024 is a much better one. Heck I hope 2020 is (was) better. Do you have a job that when you wake up everyday, you don't groan and stress over it? Does the job make you happy or atleast not stress you out like the one I have now, or atleast pays the bills? Do you have actual bills now? If so you've accomplished alot.

Has your art improved any? Do you still do art? I have my times where I feel like I'm going nowhere with what I do, but when I draw for myself I am happier. Even if it's not anatomically correct, or it's not the exact thing you pictured in your head, it's still somethin you made.

Are you fianlly driving your car that's been sitting in the driveway being untouched? Do you have a learner's permit still or do you have the full license? Do you have any pets? Did you take up any new hobbies?

Before I end this I'll put down a few things I should remind myself with,
?Take your own advice
?Your art isn't in contest with anyone else's, and this isn't a race against yourself
?Stop skipping out on doing daily self care things!!! You know you should do it, and you know you're better off for it. A little bit here, a little bit there and soon it all starts pulling up. Don't let that happen. Yes tiredness is usually an excuse, but it's not a reason.
?If your job is causing you to be stressed 25/9 on a daily basis and you're always complaining about it, you should probably leave. Even if that means it leaves other people in a tight spot, there are other jobs out there. Find one that pays the bills and doesn't make you hate life.
?Clean your room and other stuff more often. Put things away in the proper place when you're done with them.
?Stop procrastinating
?Take your own advice

Here's to hoping the years 2019 and beyond will be better and happier

Remember those days when people will ask you where you'd think you'll be in five years time? Well I'm trying to think what I'll be doing in 2024. I guess the mystery will keep me curious for what's to come.

This year had it's ups and downs. But I'll be pushing on through as usual.
Hopefully you're more social on this site and talking to more people and making more friends.
Hope you've been able to finish those shirt stories and preparing those long novels to be completed! I believe in you!
I've been applying to more things to get a job, so hopefully it shall lead you to somewhere!

Wonder how far I am to finally getting to go to Japan! Hopefully soon by that year?

Please get a job and do something, live life instead of staying inside (there?s a lot to do). Don?t waste the years, oh and remember to scalp a lot of collectibles on TBT.

I bet youre still on that dumb forum...right? Have you still not grown out of that yet, yeesh...Have you AT THE VERY LEAST collected every AC amiibo and amiibo card? (If not i'm VERY disappointed). I hope by the time you're reading this you've become a much more mature person online and IRL, that and you've hopefully stopped eating out so much...I've probably messed up all your organs with all the fast food and chemical-y things I have eaten already (woops). Please tell me what heart disease and severe diabetes is like.

Also remember, its relatively ok to be "bigger" than normal people (Thicc bois RULE!).
