Would you like a site event where all or most activities are centered on cooking? I would like to see an event where you can cook anything and not just sweets (or even just one activity in the event).

One idea is that there is a collaborative contest where in each team of three, one user makes an appetizer, another makes the main course, and the third makes the dessert.

I wouldn’t since I don’t like to cook or bake. If I liked cooking or baking, that would sound kinda fun, but I think the problem with this is that not everyone likes to cook or bake and it would exclude people that want to participate in tbt events. Now, it was a food themed event but with other activities, I could maybe get behind the idea if there are activities that I’d be more comfortable doing like acnh room decorating, design a food collectible contest (have maybe a few winners since not everyone is an artist, so non artists can have a chance to win too), artwork, collages/photo editing activities.

Ooh, a cooking-themed event could be fun. One idea I can think of for an activity is that maybe we would have to gather temporary ingredient collectibles somehow, and then if we had a specific combination of them in our lineup at a certain time each day then we'd successfully cook/bake a food-themed collectible that we would then receive. And the temporary ingredient collectibles used would disappear from our inventories each day. And it could also be that we wouldn't know the recipes beforehand, so we'd have to work together to figure out which combinations of ingredients are needed in order to successfully cook/bake each food collectible.

In terms of actual cooking/baking activities, maybe there could be two categories, similar to the Valentine's Party activity. There could be a category for those who wish to actually cook/bake and a category for drawings of food. And maybe even a third category where people can craft fake food items as well.

That looks fun! Maybe it could get me into actually cooking/baking, because while I'd love to make food for myself and others I suffer from low self-esteem over that hobby right now. ^^;

The only problem with an event that's 100% about cooking real food is that not everyone wants to do that or they don't like it, like @/Dunquixote said. If IRL cooking is one of the activities that's fine with me, but if most, if not all of the activities are IRL cooking I'd have to skip it because I'd feel burnt out already lol.

It doesn’t have to be all cooking, just like how the TBT World Championships doesn’t have to be all playing competitive games online. There can be another food collectible design contest, an ACNH restaurant-themed interior design event, and as Asarena said, a fake food craft event.

It could be fun, but I don’t cook or bake. I don’t participate in those kinds of events. I actually like how staff do a variety of tasks so everyone has a chance to take part. Not everybody cooks, is confident in their drawing skills, has supplies needed to craft, etc.

honestly, no. I enjoy it being a single activity of an overall event, but having a whole event centered around it would be too costly imo in terms of time, money, and resources

not to mention how exclusionary it would be to those that aren't able to participate for one reason or another, or are limited in their ability to participate

I think a food themed event could be really fun, with one activity being cooking. I really like your idea of a collaborative event where each person creates one part of a whole meal (appetizer, main course, dessert). I think it might be difficult to organize, but it would be entertaining!

I wouldn't be overly keen on that as I have extreme difficulty cooking/baking due to poor dexterity in my hands, wrists and fingers and risk injuring myself. However, it would be a good idea for others. Maybe there could be an option you have to choose drawing or baking/cooking. :)

I'm on the maybe sector, it sounds fun because I have been trying to get more into cooking and baking more, its fun learning new recipes of way to do things. But for events I have been more stressed out when there is a food activity. Would I have time do to the cooking, would I even have enough money to pay for ingrediants, or even more if I mess up and have to get more.
I've only been taking part when I thought the idea and creative receipe through on how to make it, and if i have enough money for ingrediants. And time to make it with my mum helping.

More stress when me and my mum doesn't understand everything completely. We had a problem with the measurements once before and that was stressful. And other times she just doesn't understand the ieda no matter how detailed I explained it, so it's hard that way too; though that's my situation to deal with, not everyone else's.

I did like when we created a new food collectible digitally! I know you don't get to eat it afterwards, but that was fun to do! (No matter how much trouble I had on my end :/ )

Ngl this sounds pretty fun. I'm not an avid cook/baker, because I usually get back from school too late to be able to make dinner so my parents usually cook it, but this would be a good idea. I do agree that it would be fun to make stuff other than sweets.

As others have said, an all-cooking event would be tedious and/or hard to do, but if one category was to do with irl cooking that would be great (especially because we get to eat the stuff after).

I really like your idea of a collaborative event where one person makes starter, another the main, etc. Sure, it'd be difficult to organise, but it'd still be fun to partake in!

Asarena'a idea for a collectible cooking event sounds really cool. Would definitely love to try that out!

Maybe it could be a Thanksgiving event or something, like Turkey Day/Harvest Festival in AC, but adapted to the site/rl. I wouldn't want to overrun the site with events though, so probably best to just incorporate the cooking into an already existing event.

I don't know why there would be a problem with a cooking event, because, yeah, some people aren't the best at cooking, for various different reasons, but neither is everyone the best at art/crafting (I'm in this group as well) and yet we have events full of art centred events.

Idk this might sound like rambling, but anyway, it would be a "yes" from me if we were doing a survey on how many people would want one.

I think different kinds of cooking tasks could be fun. Normally it's sweet tasks, but there's such a huge variety of different types that could be fun to experiment with. I love experimenting with soup and have made a lot of different soup that I thought would be awful, but I just wanted to attempt for the heck of it and it was some of the best soup I ever had. Pumpkin soup with pan-fried salmon was amazing.

I don't know about an entire event based on cooking, but maybe a task that let us broaden our choices so it's not just sweets would be nice. And there would be a category for each version like sweets, soup, artistic but not practical ect. Like not knocking anyone because all of the food entries have always been amazing, but some of the more artistic versions feel like a unhealthy sugar intake. The level of precision is impeccable, but I can't see myself eating one of them because too much icing or sugar gets me really sick to my stomach.

I feel like most of tbt's tasks are always focused on 2D or 3D art so broadening that a little more is not going to hurt anyone. I could say the same about how exclusionary those kinds of tasks are because not everyone is a skilled professional artist and maybe cooking or knitting or whatever is where they excel at. And not to start things, but this recent event showed us that not every form of media is accepted so that's kinda exclusionary as well if you want to split hairs.

I think it could be fun, especially if it included other events and was maybe not completely irl cooking.

A food centered event could even have puzzles or hunting. Like find the ingredients throughout the forum to complete a recipe and earn something.

For the cooking part - my opinion - extra points if you post the recipe along with the pic. Sometimes people make really cool things that look great - would be nice to have recipes. 😎

I tend to avoid food preparation tasks on the forums and have only entered a few when I have a decent concept in mind. As such, I can't say that I'd be too enthused about an entire site event based around food. I've seen plenty of great submissions from very talented members here over the years, but I'm frankly not as creative about this stuff, nor talented enough to make things half as aesthetically pleasing as what other people whip up, and I doubt I'll ever get there since I'm not passionate about food. I just make things that taste good, I don't know how to make them look good as well.

The occasional baking or cooking task is fine when it's just one small task as part of a wider, more expansive event with other unrelated tasks, but I'm not on board for an entirely food-based event.
