Cooking...

It be foolish to remove the system... especially if its already established.

In the treehouse footage of E3, there was a descriptor after Aya dug up a creature that said:

"I caught a manila clam these make amazing chowder. Yum!" "This manila clam can be used as fishing bait... I've got an idea of a DIY recipe!" whether or no this will be extended on is yet to be seen or even if entails more... (and honestly using clams as bait makes sense as i used to de-shell clams for bait...or hotdogs if i ran out...)

Nghh now I'm hungry... maybe I was a fish in a past life :p

In NL your character also makes a chowder comment after catching a clam so it might just be flavor text. I really hope you're right though. I wonder that we won't run out of things to craft a few months in, as more advanced furniture/accessories might need to just be purchased (to justify bells) and silver/golden tools won't break – having food recipes would add a lot more stuff to justify the crafting system.

Oh yeah, i recall that too, i just wanted to make sure that i quoted it right, and i believe that was the first time aya caught it, so i'm sure we wont see that repeated XD

Same here, but I'm sure we wont run out of things that quickly, especially since they delayed the game to possibly refine it for a Mar. 20, 2020 release (and even if they run out of time, they can patch things in, an example being MM2, though this should only be used as a last resort and not pure laziness, but we know it wont be delayed again due to the promotion material has already started...)

sorry rambled a bit there

I would love cooking in the game and giving my villagers the stuff I cook, but I don't like the whole stamina system thing. I didn't mind it too much at first when I played Harvest Moon and Story of Seasons, but it got real hard after a while. If it was just cooking for fun, then I would very much enjoy it. There was a lot of recipes for cooking in Harvest Moon and Story of Seasons, so I can imagine there would be lots to cook in New Horizons if they did add it into the game. :)

I'm sure that system is limited to moving objects like trees, as we've seen game-play of Aya from the tree-house footage hitting a rock for materials and it took no stamina from her

I like to cook in RL, and wouldn't mind being able to cook items for display in game.
