For round 1, the answer was almost double what I guessed. For round two, my guess was almost double the answer. Clearly I'm not all that great at this kind of thing!

That was exactly what I guessed too. I counted every star I could see, multiplied by x, and then adjusted the number slightly because I favor multiples of 3.

I'm pretty happy with how I've done so far, though. I've earned a decent amount of tokens both times. The last jar is where I usually fail hard.

My logic was "get something vaguely in the hundreds range and put a 69 after it".

I got tokens for what my transaction history says is count inside the bottle round 1 today, but I'm pretty sure I was like a thousand off on round one and probably didn't earn any tokens, and I was reasonably close with round 2, so I assume that's what I got the tokens for. Does it matter if the transaction history says it's for the wrong round?

Round 1 was the rock candies which match the astroid plushies
Round 2 was the star confetti matching the shooting star plush
you've alluded to round 3 being sentient, and that would line up with it being the only thing left in the cargo hold container:
