Just curious, what do you guys think of country music?
Being from Mississippi, I often here country music especially because it seems almost ingrained in Southern culture, yet I'm honestly not that big of a fan of it. In July 2006, I visited Nashville and saw the Grand Ole Opry since my parents wanted to see it so much but since I was only six years old then I didn't really know much of what was going on or anything. However, less than a year later, in March of 2007, we went to Branson, Missouri, and saw some country music-related stuff there too and honestly that was when I began to not really like it. While I do realize there were some legendary people in it (such as Elvis Presley and Dolly Parton, which I visited both Elvis's house on a trip to Memphis and Dollywood on a second trip to Branson that both took place in 2010), but since at least 2007 I haven't really cared for it, especially not the newer stuff which seems all the same and plus, is sung with accents (to sing, an accent isn't necessary; I realized this when I first heard Celtic Woman sing, and I know they make much different music, but my point still stands). Do you like it, dislike it, or just not care about it?

There are two genres of music that I really have a hard time getting into: Rap and Country. There are maybe a few songs max that I can think of that fit those genres that I actually like.

Yeah, I honestly don't like much rap either, but there's even some appreciation I can have for rap. Some for country too, but those two are the ones it's difficult for me too, so I feel.

A little bit of country is nice every once in a while, but the genre as a whole is pretty generic and boring.

Country is okay. Stuff like 'Achey Brakey Heart' by Billy Ray Cyrus makes me writhe and want to die, but I like country music in small doses, like Dolly Parton. I don't like listening to country, I'd rather listen to a Scottish man without arms try to play the bagpipes than it, but it's fun to sing along to, if you're into singing and music. They probably aren't considered the same, but I adore folk music.

I don't hate it but I don't care if it existed or not

Of course people here wouldn't like it...

Country is awesome!

From George Strait to Thomas Rett.

From Old Country to New Country.

I don't like country music at all. I don't mind country music with a little something extra though like with a pop vibe to it but I don't like "true" country music.

Some songs are good but so much of it sounds the same. Same voice types, same subject matter. It bores me and I don't care about it. I think it's overrated.

I like Willie Nelson and some alt-country, if that counts, but other than that I haven't yet found much else within the genre that I've enjoyed.

Some country music is good some is bad. I would say this is a genre where 90% is just repetitive garbage all spewing the same lyrics and topics. But depending on a person's perspective and what they grew up with you could honestly say that about any genre of music.

I voted that I like it. The good songs are like diamonds in the rough. And honestly I think the genre gets more hate than it deserves.

Country music is unbearable to me. I suppose not as unbearable as the kind of metal with screaming vocals, but still very bad. I spent so much time working at a place where I had to hear country music. I hate it. This is one of very few genres that I can say has no redeeming qualities and there's not a single pure country song I actually like and listen to.
