Ten days until my one-year anniversary as mayor of Storrs. I wonder if my villagers will hold a little celebration. (No one say, I want to be surprised. d
Anyhow, it was gently raining this afternoon and I was very happy. That meant no flowers to water, and I could wear one of my favorite raincoats. I decided on my Trench Coat today, even though I don't have an umbrella to match. I carried my Eggy Umbrella, just because. It's about time I put my winter clothes away and optimize my closet for spring! I was planning on selling all of my winter sweaters and long-sleeve shirts like I did with my summer clothes last winter, but I think I can just store them in a museum room so I won't have to reorder them all next season. I'll have to order all of my short-sleeve shirts again, but it's not too difficult since most of the shirts I like have a long-sleeve and short-sleeve version.
After I got my outfit all together, I grabbed my tools and left the house. Whitney, as usual, was the first thing I saw after walking out my front door. I noticed, too, that she is officially the first in town to be sporting 1959 Jonathan. He looks rather fabulous on her, I must admit.

We chatted for a bit, then I set off on my daily rounds of town. I found my four fossils with ease and collected my newly grown hybrids. My flowers had a field day last night, apparently. I had a new black tulips, purple pansies, blue roses, and black roses today. I transferred them all to my spare hybrid field, with the exception of the blue roses which I have been planting next to the Basketball Development Center.
I located Lolly enjoying a walk in the rain out beside her house and asked her what she was up to. She told me that she impulsively bought a Sleek Chair the other day, and wanted to sell it for 1,680 bells. A bit of a ripoff, but I bought it anyway just to make her happy. Later she told me that she also bought a Green Rug that she didn't need, and I agreed to buy that from her too for a slightly unreasonable price. Anything for Lolly!
On my way up to the museum, I stopped to talk to Chief. He told me that Fang had dropped by his house for a visit the other day, which also made me happy to hear. I'm glad to know that Fang is starting to make friends. Chief said that Fang told him his room needed more decorations, so I gave him the Sleek Chair I had bought off of Lolly. Part of my mind was telling me that he already had one at home, but I figured it could have just been one of my other friends. But Chief told me he wanted something different instead, so that confirmed my suspicion. I ended up giving him the Coconut Palm I bought from Leif, and that was good enough for him.
At the museum, Blathers appraised my fossils and told me that the Wistful Painting I had purchased yesterday was a fake. At least I can remember that I don't have a Wistful Painting in my gallery for future reference. I dropped the painting in the trash on my way to Re-Tail where I sold my fossils and a few other things I had but didn't need. I also picked up my new Light Blue Cabinet from Cyrus, ran home, and added it to my Princess Room upstairs.
Having done my daily duties, I dropped by the Roost to relieve Blathers for a bit. Kapp'n was in enjoying a cup at the bar, and I got him to tell me that he prefers Blue Mountain coffee.
Becky and Lolly were the first two in, and I knew that they both liked the same kind of coffee and satisfied their thirsts. Felicity came in next, and I only knew that she doesn't like mocha, three sugars, or one sugar so I gave her a blend roast with regular milk and two sugars this time. She said it was all good except for the type of beans.
Shrunk was last, and having failed with him several times prior to today I just about have his particular cup down. I recalled the last time he came in and told me liked mocha, so that was what I gave him along with a regular amount of milk and no sugar. He told me that wasn't right, so I believe that should narrow it down to no milk and one sugar for the doctor.
I dropped the loan payment for Lily's final west wing expansion outside of her house and purchased the expansion for the east wing. I think the second size will be big enough for the Caucus Race room, so tomorrow I should be able to add on a room in the back. I don't have any of the furniture I want for that room quite yet, but I can start rounding some up. Otherwise, I got the rest of my Mush set settled in the west room nicely without being crowded or detracting attention away from what I want to be the main focus. It looks pretty good in my opinion and I'm getting more and more excited to finish the house so I can show it off.
Lastly, I hadn't felt like I had made any significant progress in town so I decided to route the path over to Fang's from behind Re-Tail.

I wasn't sure how natural it would look, but it ended up turning out really nice.

I believe I'm going to line the top of the path with more sweet-olive bushes and perhaps some orange flowers. I also feel like the path ends kind of abruptly there in front of his front door, so I'll probably plant a couple bushes there where it stops.
And that's all for my day. I hope everyone has a good day in their respective towns. ^^
