Wow...so, it's a pretty decent way to earn moonstones. Sounds like the shop might actually be worthwhile now. Glad to see they're opening up the paywall to average players a bit. The original pay to win stuff was definitely too much.

I’m still playing the game occasionally but Pokémon Scarlet and Violet and Tears of the Kingdom keep pulling me away from Dreamlight Valley. I hope that this new update will allow us to meet Rapunzel and Dumbo. They are some of my favorite Disney characters. A circus themed furniture and accessory set based off of Dumbo would be pretty fun to have around and there is so much that you could do with that theme.

Unfortunately the new update will only include Vanellope from Wreck it Ralph alongside a new feature called DreamSnaps which will allow us all to gain more moonstones for both entering the in game competition as well as winning. 😊

Well I do like the DreamSnaps as I have wanted a better way to get Moonstones other than through random chests or buying them as converting event currency into Moonstones is really hard to do if you can’t do all of the event tasks.

Played the update a bit. Did the first snap challenge. Advanced some of Vanellope's questline. Also actually made a purchase in the store (my first one ever). Used 3,000 moonstones to buy the beach house upgrade. I just always disliked my standard house and was trying to figure out where I could fit it on the map. The beach house looks great down by the ocean. So...I had to do it. - Still haven't spent any real world money...just 3,000 stones that I had saved. Should be plenty of time to hopefully make those stones back before I need them for the next star path. Between the 50 per day via blue chests and the additional ones from participating in the snap challenges, I should be fine.

Wait, what? Wasn’t the last update just a few weeks ago? I‘ve not been playing because…well long story but my switch kept crashing and I was pretty sure I was losing dreamlight every time. So I bought it on pc and wouldn’t you know it, the game lagged and wasn’t operating correctly so I screen shot everything and saved/synced several times then shut the game down. When I reloaded the game I was missing 4,000 dreamlight!!! I put in a ticket with Gameloft. Took them 3 weeks to respond and the response was….”Gee we’re sorry, but we can’t do anything about that.” Like really?? Anyway sorry I am off on a tangent, but it soured me on the game that I had 1,100 hours in. Not sure how much I’ll pick it back up now.

The latest update is today (July 19th). It added Vanellope from Wreck it Ralph, and a "dream snap" photo contest mode that will earn players moonstones for participation.
Oh wow! That’s what I get for having a tantrum! I totally lost track of time lol! I guess the one before was way back in June. :ROFLMAO: I better get on it! Thanks for the update LuchaSloth.

I can't deny I'm not excited about Vanellope one bit and I think her house is ugly, but I'm sure I'll decorate around her house at some point. As for the DreamSnaps, it seems like a fun feature and the fact gain 300 moonstones for entering alongside randomised furniture and clothing and then can win a maximum of 5,500 moonstones is pretty impressive. 👀

I participated in the dream snaps last night and received 50 extra moonstones. But I don’t remember what it said about at the end of the challenge. Maybe you get more then, idk.
I placed Venellope’s house and then when I hit the point where she wanted me to decorate with ******** ******** (so not to spoil) etc. I quit for the night because now I’m going to have to put her house somewhere else. I’m having mixed emotions. It seems like every update is less and less. I mean to unlock a new villager within just a few minutes is not really fun or challenging.

I like Vanellope and don't mind her house (I put it in the Frozen biome), which I will split between a Christmas themed area and a candy themed area. My only complaint is the questline for her that demands you use a ridiculous amount of candy decorations and paths. Obviously, I can put that stuff all back in storage...but, still. It felt like way too many. Lol. I'll use some of it...but it's way too jumbled to try to use it all.

In all...the update actually solved some of my decorating problems. Because the Frozen area was kinda bleak otherwise. I have a general idea for what I want my biomes to all look like...but I need more characters and their related items to make it become a reality. I mean...the Forgotten Lands will 100% be a 'Nightmare Before Christmas' zone if they ever get around to releasing that stuff. Hahaha

Yeah I actually haven’t even logged into that game today. I know she gave me a lot of stuff, but I didn’t look to see how much. I’ve been playing on my switch, but I also have it on pc so I will wait and use the pc version because it is soooo much easier to make pathing and place items. And I like Vanellope as well and her house it pretty cute. I had put it in the plateau but didn’t want to start making a big race track in that biome. So I have to think about how I want to rearrange biomes so that it makes sense.

I got Vanelope. I agree that her house could have been designed much better. It doesn’t even look close to the one she had made in the first Wreck It Ralph movie. It just looks like a jumbled mess in the games whereas the movie had it more structured and the pieces holding each other up.

The last few updates I have less error/ glitches on both Switches. New profile made 2 weeks ago was able to go into all the Realms with no problems. It error once after playing for a long period of time but it wasn't anything important. The devs have done a better job with auto saving.
Played for 4 hours last night on my main profile and had no errors. I was able to use the Map to teleport, go into the house and change clothes after visiting Scrooge Store. Those tasks caused errors.

On the official DDLV website it says everyone gets 300 moonstones for participating but I don't think those moonstones will be inboxed to us until the voting starts which will happen next week. This in turn will be followed by an announcement of who's won and what the prizes will be alongside the 5,500 moonstones for the winner. As for Vanellope I placed her house in the Forgotten Lands, as much as I despise her house it'll suit the spooky woods once I start decorating in that biome.

Finished Vanellope's level 10 quest. I appreciate that they're trying to do different things and keep the quests unique. Not my favorite quest...but I also don't find any of them to be particularly enjoyable. Always some combination of "go here, talk to this character, gather these, craft this"...can't be avoided, I guess. But, yeah...kind of a fun twist on the formula for what it is. I appreciate that they try.

I have this on Xbox game pass and switch, it runs so buttery smooth on Xbox console and in Xbox app for PC however the switch just doesn't feel as nice when playing it. I bought it on the switch and left it after a short time because it was so buggy but even with the new dreamsnaps update it's still really laggy and buggy! Overall, I think it is definitely worth the price if you aren't playing it on switch

I have if ir PC and though i like it it got old fast, to me it somehow lacks a bit of charisma or liveliness, i was not expecting a sims game but i just miss the possibility to interact with the 90% of the objects. I understand it might be an unpopular thought but each to its own. I am also not very happy that they said at some point in 2023 we would have cross-platform but still nothing. I think i would play it more if i had it in the switch, before going to bed to decompress i bit from work etc. I am waiting to be able to cross-platform i think since the simba update i have not touched it, i am super sure decorating is going to be better from my PC but somehow i think gameplay is more chill from my sofa/bed

I fully expected the free version of the game to be out by now.

Luckily, I've been playing on Xbox from day one...which means I've been playing free on Game Pass. But, I do intend to get the Switch version when it is free, just to play here and there. But, yeah...is the game still considered "beta" at this point? I figured that once they concluded the main story they would consider that a wrap on the pre-release. Weird that it's still an "early access" pay to play game when it sounded like that change would be made sooner rather than later. Could honestly see them denying that they ever said that and just keeping it as a paid game.
