I used to love when my neighbours would wanna come over to my house. I have yet to have anyone ask to come hang out. Wondering if anyone’s had their neighbours over?

I haven't had that happen yet. I'd be sad if it were removed, it made me feel so much closer to the villagers!

I have yet to get invited to any villagers house and i havent gotten any visits from them so far. one of them told me once that i should visit his house but it wasnt a real invitation, he was just chatting.
I am still early in the game so these things might happen later on.

They seem to severely nuked the whole request/task/coming over to your or your villagers home aspect.

The only things I’ve been able to do with my villagers is find lost items for them and I played a treasure hunt game with Pashmina. Which was really stressful btw because the time limit was really short.

And everyone keeps saying “keep talking them and give them presents and they’ll be more interesting and ask for more requests” and I just think they’re wrong tbh.

Dobie just pinged me and asked me to catch him a yellow butterfly so that’s cool... he’s my bestie on the island this far so maybe it’s true? Who knows.

I really hope more in-depth character interaction shows up soon- all I've ever personally experienced is delivering lost items. The villager dialogue itself is good in my book, but I never really disliked running errands for my neighbors and I'm going to be a little disappointed if that's mostly gone.

considering you only get letters from them after you unlock their "true friend" status and all that jazz, maybe that's something they put on the backburner until you've unlocked another friendship stage or sth? i know they hang out in each others houses unprompted and seem to throw you a bday party, so why not? assets for that clearly seem to be there.

I have had one of my two starters give me an item to deliver to my other starter :)

I've had a villager mention coming over sometime but never actually had a villager over yet... Hopefully they didn't remove too many features with villagers or at least plan on updating the game later with more possible interactions. I have had a fetch quest though!

I haven't experienced it thus far. I'm glad they removed that aspect. I hated reorganizing stuff and the villagers would come in all of a sudden without warning, stopping me from rearranging my home.

Oh I'm glad that feature is still there. I miss the time capsules though!

So far I've had 1 villager ask me to change his catchphrase, gotten a nickname, been asked to make deliveries for villagers, been asked to catch bug or fish, been asked to play treasure hunter, been pinged and given gifts or sold items, seen villagers inside of each other's houses, been given tons of diy recipes (obviously), gotten random letters...
but no house visits yet! I loved that feature too so I hope it happens eventually.

I have same question, and can't find answer anywhere, beyond people being "positive" that invites are still here, but not so sad about this feature being removed because multiplayer =/

i've done errands/deliveries, caught a specific kind of bug or fish, received letters, and gotten a nickname! so far i haven't had a villager randomly enter my house but i hope it comes back (along with hide and seek, my favourite !!)

Well, I don't want that back. Luckily, the room designing isn't the whole push and pull movement anymore (where you were easily interrupted in ACNL). However, if I exit the interface and I hear a "knock knock here I come" and Stu or whoever plows through..:cautious:

Granted, you could always ignore the goons if you were in other rooms, but if you're situated in the living room, you're donezo. I would pretend to leave to make them get out.

I did find two villagers hanging out in one home.
