do you bother adding apostrophe to your words when online?

I'll always use apostrophes because it's important to me to use proper grammar. I won't take shortcuts because I don't want it to look like I can't spell so I'm always double-checking my posts to make sure they're grammatically correct.

I sometimes, it really matters what the topic is. If there is a big person in tbt or something, I usually use apostrophes. On my phone it automatically puts the apostrophe in. On my iPad it doesn't automatically put an apostrophe in but like I said before, it matters what the conversation topic is and who is in the thread/conversation. Overall I don't usually use apostrophes. Right now in this text there is apostrophes coz I'm on my phone which automatically puts apostrophes in.

Personally, as somebody who loves to write, spelling for me needs to be correct. I try so hard not to be so proper with spelling, specifically when speaking to friends but I simply can't help it. I use to be very harsh towards myself as a child when I would accidentally have grammatical misuse of sentence and word structure so it seems that I still tend to do so...

You're not alone. My sister on the forums always try's to be proper with grammar. And me, l have problems with grammar even though l shouldn't at this age. I get mad at myself when l do a typo or misspell a word.

i rarely do unless its meaning changes significantly without the apostrophe (like we're vs were). i used to be a stickler for correct grammar and punctuation but now that i'm old, i can care less.

If I'm typing on a keyboard (ie. at my PC) then I generally do, because of habits formed when typing papers/writing/etc. If I'm on my phone, I might leave them out.

yes, most of the time i still use them. it's just deeply ingrained into my brain at this point, lol. the only thing i'd say i never do when i'm writing on a forum or something similarly informal is capitalize, i just can't be bothered to do it

On a keyboard yes. I have to write professional emails so I rather not create any bad habits for myself. I made the switch from chatspeak to proper sentences and spelling in middle school when I started to write stories and it was really annoying when I would have chatspeak in the middle of my stories.

On the phone I let autocorrect and swipe decide for me since I'll be sending short messages to other people.

I'm an English major with a focus on rhetoric and writing, so yes.

depends. i used to really care about it but now im burnt out and just.. dont.

It depends on the mood honestly. On here, I do when I'm typing in these forums. Sometimes I just don't care to add them

It honestly depends for me? Sometimes I do it without even realizing... Other times, I really just don't care at all, lol.

Yeah, I do. My phone generally does it for me. I doubt I’d bother adding them in informal texts and stuff if my phone didn’t do it automatically.

Autocorrect usually does that so yes but sometimes it adds one when I don't want it to be there so I do make the effort on getting rid of the apostrophe.
