Guest, you're invited to help build our new TBT time capsule! It contains three parts, with some of its elements planned to open in 2029 and others not until the distant future of 2034. Get started in 2024 Community Time Capsule: Blueprints.
Also let's not forget my lil turtle collection, that's a bit on hold at the moment cause I can't really go scavenge second hand stores like before and a lot of turtle items are used, chewed on baby toys
Also I kept a few Neptunia items such as my statues/figures and a light-up paperweight cause the latter is very pretty and the statues Idon't have the heart to sell or give away.
I collect bouncy balls! I thought they were the most exciting thing when I was a kid so every time I passed one of those machines where you put in a coin and a random bouncy ball comes out, I'd get one. I have about 60 stockpiled in a container, I still love them because they're all so different and colouful.
Same!! Bouncy balls were the best thing and I still have my collection of +60 balls, but there are a lot that deflated over the years
I need to start finding cool ones again! I feel like it was so much more easy to find unique ones back then
Eep, I have a tendency to collect stuff. I trimmed down my collections two years ago when we renovated our home. Because, when we were packing our stuff into boxes, I ended up being the one in the family with the most number of boxes to move. I was... shocked at myself.
I had hundreds of imported anime DVDs. I gave most of them away. The ones I've kept are Gankutsuou, Rurouni Kenshin and a limited edition boxed set of Cowboy Bebop. And a few DVDs imported from Japan.
Also I'd amassed over 600 manga tankoubon. Again, I gave away most of them, including entire sets of One Piece, Death Note, Saiyuki, Getbackers, Lone Wolf and Cub, etc. The ones I chose to keep are Rurouni Kenshin, Slam Dunk, Mushishi and some BL manga.
Artbooks celebrating anime or manga. Over 50 of them. Kept all of them. Artbooks are so beautiful! Seeing the gorgeous illustrations inside always fills me with admiration and awe at the artist's amazing talent and wonderful imagination. Rurouni Kenshin, Death Note, One Piece, Saiyuki, etc. Also some BL ones.
Paper. I like paper. I've collected a lot of paper. Origami paper, gift wrap, pretty letter pads. Which is okay because I like making things with paper, so I do use a lot of it. Modular origami, shadow boxes, cards, etc. I think I have too much paper. At the same time, I don't think I have enough.
Little things, which are cat, anime or manga related. This collection of little things started when I made multiple trips to Japan over the past two decades. I bought them from anime stores like Animate, shops selling pre-owned anime merchandise in Ikebukuro, gacha machines found everywhere in Japan especially in Akihabara. With the pandemic, we can't travel, but last week I put in a preorder for a Gojo Satoru (Jujutsu Kaisen) figure that will be released only in August. I love my anime figures. Some small ones, some big ones. I look at them every day. My favourite is one of Houzuki (Houzuki no Reitetsu). It was an Animate exclusive figure, the Oni ni Kanabo version. Came in a gorgeous box. Usurped half the space in my luggage. Also nendoroid figures. Houzuki, Tora (Ushio to Tora), L (Death Note), Kougami (Psycho Pass), etc.
My Trafalgar Law (One Piece) figure is another favourite. (These are my photos.)
Lastly, I collect tillandsia. Also called airplants. I've over 50 of them. It's not as intimidating as it sounds. My tillandsia are mostly not large plants (about palm-sized and smaller) and, because they aren't potted, they're clean, space-saving plants. I keep them at my bay window. Been growing them for 5 years now.
I cannot believe how much time I've spent on this post. Sorry for the wall of text. Old people tend to ramble.
Impressive. I think your collection beats my localized box sets. I got some Geneon, Bandai and ADV stuff before Funimation got the rights. I don't like how they redubbed Escaflowne.

I'm in Southeast Asia and, at the time when anime DVDs were available, only anime VCDs were selling in my country. So I actually had to import all the anime DVDs I wanted from the USA. I only had a few boxed sets because most of the titles I owned were just complete sets but they did not come in limited or special edition boxes. The boxed sets I had that were special editions were Escaflowne, Record of Lodoss War and Cowboy Bebop. Other boxed sets I had like Saiyuki, Gankutsuou, etc were just sets that came in pretty boxes.
Also I'm one of those annoying fans that only watch her anime subbed, not dubbed. Just a personal preference. Dubs are great for people who don't want to be distracted! It's just that, here where I grew up, we are all very used to reading subtitles while watching TV or the movies. Nothing is dubbed, everything is subtitled. So it's not distracting for us; it became a habit. Also, I fell in love with some of the Japanese voice actors' voices. Even though, at that time, I didn't understand the language, I was still able to pick out the voices that I liked and correctly identified them. My son said I'm super weird to be able to do this.
I'm rambling! *exits the room all awkward-like... *
I assumed localized to one's country/region so in that case it would be US edition DVDs?
Also yeah I can't stand watch dubbed stuff so yeah unless it's with subs nope from me as well. I guess dubs can be good if you have concentration issues or such but people who prefer it just for multitasking like.. why :/ Only good dubs I've watched is the german one for Ai sh.ite Knight/Rock n roll kids but I've a feeling EU countries spends better on actually making it watchable if dubbed.
Yeah I had a pretty large collection back in the days, but gave away most except some favourites which I also eventually gave away cause I lost interest with the newer, official series so-to-say.

Please ramble more. I am talking about the U.S. versions of anime. I'm being converted to a sub fan. Some of the dubbing studios are becoming known for taking liberties with the material, while accuracy has been mission statement from the beginning. I did have to resort to getting a Malaysian bootleg of one title, funnily enough it has an anti-piracy warning.
Plushies, figures, etc. They're usually from things I really like such as Pokemon, but cute animals are okay too.
Also ahaha, any time I join a virtual pet/adoptable website, I turn into a hoarder. Does that count? XD
This! Man, 90s and 2000s were the **** for unique stuff like this and erasers etc. I feel. I remember when you could go into like toy/book/crafts store and find cool stuff. Nowadays it's more like, mass produced similar stuff everywhere.
I collect keychains from everywhere i travel to. I have a couple ziploc gallon size bags filled with them. I can’t easily recall memories of those times (due to a traumatic experience i’ve lost a lot of my memories) so they keychains will sometimes trigger good memories which is wonderful.
I also have a decent size collection of Batman and Harley Quinn collectibles and merchandise, but i am looking to get rid of that stuff as it no longer serves me and i’m trying hard to live a more minimal and less consumer lifestyle.
I also have a small collection of Koala things mostly plushies and stuffed animals.
I collect Ojamajo Doremi merch and antique wax seals from the 1700s to 1800s
I also have a little collection of Sailor Moon merch but I'm not actively looking for rare finds and such, I just like to get something from times to times when I find it cute.
I like to collect Pokemon and Dragon Ball Super cards...but it's very expensive, and I hate having stacks and stacks of the worthless ones. Also, it makes a lot of garbage from all the wrappers and packages. So...I don't do it as much any more. I collect some other things though. Pre-covid, I would always buy posters from concerts and music festivals. Signed prints...things like that. I also collect vinyl records, books, Switch games, and a few action figures/statues (even though I have absolutely no room for those).
I'm collecting all kind of merchandise from Not The Nine O'Clock News and Smith and Jones, in particular records, VHS tapes, books etc. It's probably the most unique collection I had so far and it's sometimes kinda hard to find certain collectibles, since they became pretty rare over time (no wonder considering how old both shows are). Also collecting in general merchandise from TV shows and movies I like.
I really like math so I have a collection of math books and it continues to grow. A few I have just because I had to get them for classes but I find to be poorly written, so I'm not sure if I'll keep all my current books. But most of them I'll keep and I have some on my list I'd like to get someday. I'd love to have a bookcase of math books I really enjoy someday!
i low key collect cute pins and stickers, but i don't buy new ones that often. just once in a while, but i really like to look at them even though i don't use them a lot
Ah I think I need some help with my obsession to collect anything..
My favourite and most valuable collection is my Littlest Pet Shop collection and it is still growing. I have 160 or so, but I know some collectors have tons more. I feel like a child because I collect toys but they bring back the nostagia and I just love the little animals and their funny proportions.
Another favourite (though it was entirely free!) is my feather collection. It consists of many feathers, including one Macaw tail feather which a macaw dropped when I visited an aviary. I was very lucky that day. I habe a bunch other cool wing and tail feathers and I plan on using some for decoration in my new house.
Gems! These arent Crystals for spiritual use but rather one of my childhood collections from gem fairs. I have so many though most my mum paid for.
Books. I just like reading but almost all my books were gifts/cheap thrift store finds but I have 2 shelf full of them so I have a collection for sure.
Coins! I collect special sirculation coins in Australia and many differemt international coins including retired coins such as German Marks.
Toy Frogs. No clarification needed, I paint them all lol.
Pins! I have pins from a bunch of places I have visited with family on trips.
Hotwheel cars. I wasnt a girly girl growing up so cars interested me, and I have many of them. Most were also gifts but I think I have upwards of 100 cars that just sit around unless my niece is somehow interested in playing with them.
Yeah that is all the actively growing collections I can think of, but I do think I have some more laying around.
