I collect a few things! My largest collection is my Pokémon collection. I have 4 large binders full of cards from 1995-present. I have loooooads of Pikachu merch and eeveelution merch. I have stuffed animals, pins, figures, Christmas ornaments, jewelry, a vintage camera, you name it.
Besides Pokémon, I also collect Aristocats merch, rubber ducks, and paper fans. I guess I can say I collect "squishies" too. I just have a very large basket of foam/sand/water squish fidgets. I'm not really sure how to classify those, LOL. MY favorite in that collection right now is probably a foam tardigrade.
OH! I guess this also qualifies as a collection....but plants! I have so many plants. I love them. I have everything from box store rescues to ones I've paid about $60 for, even carnivorous ones! Gardening makes me so happy. Though currently I'm hesitant about Alocasias as most of mine never came out of dormancy and I just have my stingray left. They're gorgeous, but I don't want to risk getting more just for them to die.
I collect one cent and two cent pieces. They're just really small and I think they stopped being minted, so why not make it a goal to collect as many as I can?
I collect vinyl records, mostly edm vinyl but I have a few non edm albums.
I'm glad it became relevant again. I started collecting in 2020 when I ordered an album called Neon Jungle by an french edm artist called CloZee and I now have probably between 30-40 albums. I used to have all of taylor swifts albums on vinyl but when I was broke, I had to sell some things which included every single swift vinyl, mainly because if I want to, I can easily buy those again. My edm vinyl albums are super limited press and I was not about to get rid of ANY of them. They are forever special to me.
My parents also used to collect 45s back in the 80s and my dad gave me about 200 of what was left of his collection, pretty much all unplayed. So I have a bunch of vintage 45s in my collection. 45s I believe are mostly just singles (one song on each side? or maybe the same on both? idk)
But yes my vinyl collection is my most beloved collection and I guess my only collection, but I have things I want to collect, I've just been broke.
I collect quite a few things! I just wish I had the space for everything. T^T But for now, here are my main ones:
- I've been collecting plushies since I was a kid, but I had to get rid of some since I had too many at one point. :[ Most of my them consist of Nintendo plushes and Beanie-Boos, and I have most of them displayed in various places in my room.
- I started collecting CDs a couple months ago. It's probably a bit redundant since I could just listen to music digitally and for free, but it's nice to have physical copies. I mostly have Metallica, Megadeth, and System Of A Down CDs; I also have a couple from Slipknot and Korn.
- I have a small collection of licensed mugs. I have ones for Zelda, Animal Crossing, and Stardew Valley... I still want more, though. :P
- I really liked serialized novels, so I've gotten lots of books over the years. The only sets I've mostly completed are Diary of a Wimpy Kid and the Zelda mangas, though. I hope to complete my Dog Man collection someday.
- I've gotten amiibos for Christmas/my birthday for the past few years, so I've amassed quite a bit of them! I mostly have Zelda amiibos, but I also have a few Animal Crossing ones.
I have a habit of hoarding notebooks instead of using them, so I guess I also collect notebooks in a sense. XD
I own every Wimpy Kid book + the Rowley spinoffs if it counts. (I'm pretty sure it does.)
I used to collect stuffed toys too but stopped buying them because my mom was against me investing in stuff that she thought was "for kids only." Nowadays, I crochet my dream plushies most of the time.
I also amassed a collection of Pokémon cards I kept in a plactic bag back in elementary school, but lost them all not too long before I started middle school. That said, there's only one card I'm aiming for right now (hint: wowzers), so I plan on getting a bunch of booster packs until I see my #1 fave character among my new horde of cards.
I'm casually collecting Pokémon merch (cards, figures, video games and some plushies) and Animal Crossing amiibos. I also want to get a My Little Pony figures collection going, and always look for them whenever I go to thrift stores. I just love the idea of rescuing old toys, cleaning them up and giving them a second chance at being loved.
Aside from that, I do have a hefty hoard of notebooks, CDs, DVDs and books in general. (❁´◡`❁) I also inherited my mom's collection of salt and pepper shakers. Not reaaally my thing but there are some pretty interesting variations. (':
I wouldn't say I actively do it, but I have a large volume of Nintendo Power magazines. I've found many really old issues at yardsales and other places. Still not actively looking, but when I come across them I usually buy them if the price is decent enough. The information in them is old an maybe outdated, but it's still cool to read over them to see what was being hyped at the time, the fans showing off their works of love and letters, and so forth. It's kind of cool. And sometimes I come across a little article in one of the magazines. Like a few months ago I was reading one to find something and came across an article about Shigeru Miyamoto being an upstart with a promising future.
I have a massive music box and doll collection and a smaller collection of costume jewelry and vintage clip on earrings and fans. I also have a small collection of Lego Harry Potter sets and a slightly larger collection of Lego Super Mario sets up until the Bowser’s Muscle Car set. I have all of the Luigi’s Mansion sets and a majority of the first three waves’ sets including Bowser’s Castle and Airship. I also have a few random Lego sets from other series.
