I have always done my own nails. It's fun, and most importantly CHEAP.
Recently I've started using dip powder, rather than just slapping on press-ons, and I LOVEEE it.
Is anyone else really into having your nails done? Whether you do your own, or get them done by a salon/nail tech, tell me all about it! I would love to connect with other animal crossers to chat about nails:)
PLEASE feel free to share photos!

I occasionally paint the nail on my ring finger black. It's something I started doing 4 years ago. Can't remember why but I like how it looks.

I do my own nails, as I have always enjoyed nail polish. I used to have very long natural nails, but now more medium-length, so manicures are easier. I usually do a mani-pedi, if I do one.

I’ve never been to a nail salon, but I’d be open to going to one to get my feet washed and scrubbed. (Exfoliated?) And maybe some clear polish on my toes while they’re at it. Those pedicure chairs look comfy!

i usually get my nails done regularly, but as of now i need to stop because i need to start saving money 😭😭😭

I have no nails.

However I've been vocal about nail painting being for anybody. I have certain family who criticize males with painted nails. Who cares. Stuff like that is silly to me. It's not like it hurts anybody.

I've never really been interested in having my nails professionally done since I'd rather spend my money on other things, but I enjoy doing my nails myself! I'm also not really interested in press-ons, gels or acrylics in general though, so I always just paint my natural nails!

I don't have any pics since my nails are never anything extravagant; I usually just do a base colour and occasionally top it with a sparkly/glittery polish. My hands are always unsteady and my nails are usually different lengths, so the finished look is always a little imperfect haha, but I'm usually happy with it regardless and that's all that really matters to me!

I last painted my nails 3 weeks ago, and I went with a deep purple base polish and topped it with a colourful glittery polish! It was my first time painting my nails in almost a year, but I'm pleased with how they turned out! They're pretty chipped by now, so the only pic I have of them is of me holding a drink, and you only see my thumb in it LOL. They were giving off some nice galaxy vibes, though!

I don't paint my nails as often as I used to, and I really want to get back into doing it! I used to paint my nails a new colour every week, and I'd love to do that again, even if it's only every other week or even once a month instead of every week! I miss experimenting with new base colour and glitter polish combos.

Nope. I don't like putting anything on my nails. I feel like I'd get it places it shouldn't be, like in my eyes. They were itching as I typed this, giving me the perfect example. My nails also break all the time...

I have a lot of nail polish, nail stickers and I've always painted my nails myself but I find the process of them drying, to be really slow. I even have a mini fan to help the drying process but I am not patient enough. Whenever I think they're dry, I tend to nick them, lol. I've been enjoying nail wraps which are a lot easier to apply, especially if you want a cute design for a special occasion or just want a fast application process.

I would like to wear acrylic press-on nails but I find them all too long (even the short kind) and I wear contacts; so it sorta wigs me out. I like the coffin and almond nail shapes the most.

Can't stand on waiting for nails to dry... I switched to all UV Gel polish. I refuse to use ANY normal polish... I threw it all out eventually. May seem extremely picky of me but I am SOOO impatient and nail art already takes ages.
ALSO, the nail wraps are super useful, they come in so many cute designs too!

I'm telling you, its SO worth looking into learning to doing your own. It seems like a lot but it gives you full control over the outcome, and it's so much cheaper in the long run. So many mediums to choose from as well!

I used to have long natural nails, and I would paint them every Sunday in preparation for my week at school. One day, I broke one. Pretty bad. Haven't grown them out since. I just keep my natural nubs with fake nails slapped over 'em haha. It's just not worth the pain of breaking a real nail :')
I actually got a pedicure for the first time ever a couple weeks ago, and I'd highly recommend. My feet were so soft and pretty.

i always do them myself, sometimes i just throw on some press-ons and sometimes i paint them! i don't always like to paint them because i have real shaky hands which causes them to look a little silly, but they're good enough!

the first and only time i went to the nail salon was to get them done for my 8th grade graduation party. they came out terrible and the nail tech was really mean and yelled at me, which really soured my experience. i ended up just taking them off at home after the party because i didn't want to go back in and see the lady anymore lol.

maybe once i have enough money and time, i'll go to another nail salon and get them done properly. might get a pedicure as well.

I'm so sorry about that experience. Honestly, I've only had like ONE nail salon visit I was happy with. They either make you feel awkward, don't have designs/charms you want, overcharge... the list goes on. They're all very talented people, but I guess it's just not my cup of tea. Now, I occasionally go to a local small business ran by a younger girl (WHO I LOVE) to get my toes done, but I don't think I'll ever step foot into a larger walk-in salon again. I think finding a nail tech who makes you feel comfy is the first step!

I never have but omg because of happy chaos and the gender vibes I want black nails. I still want to do it for pride month but I prob won’t, when I can leave home I’ll do it to celebrate.

Going in drag to a queer event Friday night and my girlfriend's suggested we go and get our nails done the day before. Said yes and booked in. 💅

I started doing my nails a little over six months ago to see if that would stop me from chewing on them. It worked! Wish I'd done it a lot sooner. I just paint my nails black, nothing elaborate.

Typically I have them done. Not too confident in my own abilities. Lol. I love glittery nail polish! I love the ones from ILNP especially. Just so gorgeous. I stare at my fingernails all day when I have that on. xD

I don’t bother with my nails at all, I don’t think I’m careful enough 😂 I wore nail polish a few times as a child but that’s literally it. What are you supposed to do while you wait for it to dry?

You should do this.

I loooove having fake nails, but I hate going into nail salons bc social anxiety so I rarely go. Been dreaming about getting a gel x kit for a while now.

I just trim my own nails. Both hand and feet. If I get ingrown nails, I just ask my mom for help.
