Bells
41
I’m just wondering how common this is. My island is a tropical resort, and I keep my island in the summer months. I really do not like how it looks in the snow, and it looks even more obscure being that we are on an island. Do you time travel to keep your island in a certain season or do you not mind experiencing all four seasons?

Hmm thats a good question. I really didn't like how my island looked like in the Winter season so I guess the best season would be in the Summer, where there is a lot of bugs to catch and sell for bells and also in the Fall where there is Mushrooms all over the place where you can also sell to get a lot of bells. So for me personally after seeing the Southern Hemisphere on my second island I am going to go with the Fall season since its the one that I remember spending most time on this game until Winter came and I stopped playing.

I also have my island in the Southern Hemisphere. I really only spent a bit of time in the winter because I couldn’t stand how it looked. I think the green grass and nice weather is so much more aesthetic pleasing. 😅

i don’t mind experiencing all four seasons at all although whenever i upload a dream address, i’ll have my island in spring since that’s the season it looks best in. :’)

I keep my island at the current date when not time travelling to achieve something.

I'm really looking forward to autumn and winter though as autumn was gorgeous and I kinda miss the snow now

I don’t time travel, so no. If I did though I might keep my island in winter for a little longer. I wasn’t ready for the snow to melt in February. I loved the snow and never got tired of it like most people.

I actually thought most people preferred the snow on Animal Crossing? I’d be surprised if people said their favorite season was the summer!

I think by the end of winter, most people were sick of it. I know I was. Now I miss it.

Truth be told I never liked snow not in real life and on the game it just made it harder to even look for bugs and the white snow doesn't well go well with the theme of my island. I guess my favorite season is Fall since its pretty chill and relaxing most of the time.

I don’t keep any season longer than the other, but I do TT.
I do love the summer months best of all though, with the bright green grass and such vivid colors on the flowers

I would like to keep mine in autumn, but I know I would surely get tired of it after a while so I don't bother.

would've loved to have kept my island in the autumn or winter, but it'd feel sorta weird to me to not experience all 4 seasons as they come and go lol.

I don't TT so no, though if I could I would keep it in summer for longer so I can get the valuable bugs (some of which I missed out on last year and I really want to complete my critterpedia this year!)

i tend to not dramatically tt around the current date so i pretty much always keep my island in whatever season it is at the time! if i heavily decorated my island to fit a certain theme/season then i'd probably be more inclined to change it but as of yet i haven't done that. also i have another game i play a lot that's slightly linked to the switch's date/time and i'm afraid to test its boundaries lol

It would be Spring (during the blossoms) or Autumn (during the leaves are falling).

But right now it's going by the current time.

As much as I love Autumn both in real life and in the game, no, I've never kept any of my Animal Crossing games in a particular season all year round. I am and always have been a time traveler since the GameCube game back in 2002, and my games aren't often in alignment with the actual current month or time of year, but I still find the progression of time appealing in the games. Bugs and fish availability alternating through the different months, different clothes in the Able Sisters' shop based on the season, holidays, birthdays, and so on, all of that helps keep the experience fresh and engaging. I feel like just sticking to one season permanently would get really boring, and I've also never really bothered to use the Dream Suite in New Leaf or New Horizons, so ultimately there's no appeal to this concept for me whatsoever.

I WOULD spend all my time in the autumn months if it weren't for the dang time locked updates that keep me going back to the current real world time
