we were always taught not to go in the house with shoes on, not rly bc of respect but bc my mum didn't want her wood floor marked. i don't know how ppl lounge about in shoes tbh, i find it so uncomfortable
Sometimes...? usually when I come home exhausted from college, the first thing I do is throw myself onto the sofa and relax for a little while, before taking my shoes off.
Neverrr. Shoes come off at the door, I hardly walk into the kitchen with them on. I only do that if I'm gettin groceries out of the car. At work I walk all over bread crumbs, icing, dirty water, lots of stuff collects on the bottoms. Imagine dumping ground up stuff on your bedroom floor ew no. I walk around the house barefoot cause I don't like wearing socks really.
Jeez, I must be one of the few people who actually prefer socks as opposed to none! In any case I usually just take them off in the kitchen and go down to my man-cave.
No. Where I live you take your shoes off in the entry way of the house and leave them there. Wearing shoes into someone's house is considered rude here, as is wearing bare feet. So socks are really what goes.
I take mine off soon as I got inside and change to my slippers. At a friend's house I always take off my shoes soon as I get inside and just go around in my socks.
I take my shoes off, I don't like the idea of tracking germs into my house, although that's mostly a me thing and not a household rule. I go barefoot in my house usually, but I've found that I end up stepping on little bits of debris (my current vacuum isn't all that powerful) so I actually bought some house slippers yesterday that I'm gonna be trying out.
Private rooms no, business rooms yes.
My parents run a restaurant downstairs, where I have to keep my shoes on - if I go upstairs, my shoes always come off at some point, but they‘re definitely not allowed upstairs unless you want to put it in the shoe rack there. Sometimes we wear loafers inside, but if we don‘t it‘s either socks only or barefoot, either is fine.
Usually no, most of my apartments have mainly had carpeting so I try not to stain a light colored carpet with mud. It?s also a lot easier to keep the shoes I wear the most by the door so I can just slip them on before I leave the house.
I don't take my shoes off right at the door, but yeah I have a specific pair of sandals that I wear in the house (Cause I'm really weird about stepping on microscopic pieces of dirt on the floor lol). If I'm going somewhere I put my reg shoes back om, but yeah I don't like to wear them in the house much, though it's not a big deal here. My dad always wears his shoes in the house.
We always take our shoes off here at my house. We have light colored carpets and I don't want to stain them too badly since we rent this place. We put down a large rug right by the front door for people to take their shoes off and leave them at. Guests can leave their shoes on if they wish, but we'd prefer it if they didn't. I do have some rather large slippers for anyone that isn't comfortable being completely sock/barefooted!
I like to be barefoot as much as possible (lol, I grew up in the country, can you tell?), but with having 3 animals in our house, there's pet hair everywhere. I have started wearing flip flops or my bunny slippers in the house because I can't clean the house fast enough to keep up with their shedding and I don't like the feel of their fur on my feet.
I never ever wear my shoes in the house, not because I was raised that way, simply because I absolutely HATE wearing shoes hahaha I love for my feet to be free of foot prisons.
When visiting others I always take my shoes off before I go inside.
