My name is Shana. The way I pronounce it is SHAN-uh, rhyming with the American way of saying banana, with a short vowel sound.

For the most part, I like my name. I'm glad I have an uncommon one. I very rarely meet people with my name, and when I do, they generally either pronounce it differently, or they spell it Shanna instead of Shana.

Plenty of people do mispronounce my name though, which can be irritating, but it is just something you typically have to deal with if you have a unique name.

People who don't know me very well often call me Shawna, Shayna, or sometimes even Shannon.

I'm nearly 30 at this point so I can't imagine being called anything else to be honest.

I'm pretty neutral about it. It's a pretty nice name with a nice meaning until you realize that people will mispronounce it. A LOT.

"The name Michael is a Hebrew baby name. In Hebrew the meaning of the name Michael is: Who is like God? Gift from God. In the Bible, St. Michael was the conqueror of Satan and patron saint of soldiers." (Also an archangel)

"Michael is a Greek variant of the Hebrew name Mikha'el, meaning "Who is like God." "

Fairly interesting background to the name.

I do like it though, it's fairly generic and I see nothing wrong with it.

I hate it. I?ve never seen anyone else with my name before, which means I stick out too much, and when I was young, people in public would always get it wrong. Sometimes what they would say wasn?t even close to my name. Seeing someone get my name right was like watching pigs fly.

I've known one or two with my name but honestly til I started high school people had obvious problems pronouncing it, especially sub teacher.. Like no it's not an e at the end, no it's not pronounced with a french accent etc etc. and they could even less spell it lol.

(sheila is not my rl name... yet hope I can change it legally some day though) but yeah i hate my rl name now yes.

My name is Charlotte, but I've gone by Lottie since the 8th grade and it is honestly the cutest nickname ever.
I'm neutral on Charlotte, as it's a bit too formal for me, but Lottie is just- me!
So- I'm not a big fan of Charlotte, but it provided me with this great nickname! :)

i like my name, hailey.
the only thing i don?t like about it is, to me, it never sounds like the name of an adult. right now i?m 21, so it sounds fine to me.

but i can?t picture being named hailey past 30...

maybe i?m crazy, but it sounds like a kid/teen/early twenties kind of name to me .-. lol

nah, not at all! i've known a few elderly ladies whom are called that and even at that age, they definitely suit it.

it’s ok it’s unique but no one can pronounce it right unless i correct them like 5 times then they still manage to mess it up :/

I think it's pretty. definitely a unique spelling.

I love my name, but I picked it out myself. I still haven't legally changed my name to my real name though, and I feel a little bit of cringe whenever I hear someone call me my legal name, it's not a bad name but it's just not my name.

I used to not like my name because I thought it was weird (my name is Cara and isn't super common where I live) but over time it's grown on me and I really like it now c:

I honestly didn?t like my name in the past. I didn?t really have a reason for it. Maybe it was too common? It grew on me as a grew older. I definitely do not like my last name though. I just find my last name weird and people have tended to make fun of it in the past. Unfortunately, those were people that had bullied me anyway so there wasn?t really a surprise they found a way to insult me.

i picked it myself, so of course i like it! it's short, gender neutral, and nice-sounding.

my nickname (that's longer than my normal one lol) is 'alexander' and i really love the way that it rolls off my tongue.

I hated my name, So I legally changed it. Now I love it I still get the wrong name off people here and there but I just be silly so people don’t mind me correcting them.

Ehhh my name is not horrible. But I guess I don?t like it because no one can pronounce it. I just shorten it to Ellie.
To old and too used to it to have it legally changed though.
