Nope. I love learning about all the things I donate to the museum. Grant it, it can get a little tiring going through it sometimes, especially if you have a lot of things to donate, but I think it’s worth it in the end.
New leaf was amazing because I would go into the museum late at night when I had nothing to do and just read all the exhibits. The fact that they took that away and just expect us to listen to blathers every time we happen to donate something is absurd *slams fist on table*
I used to, but I stopped doing that when I donated more than one critter at once, and Blathers didn't talk about any of them. To my surprise, you don't have another opportunity to hear about the animals you donated to the museum after that (I thought you would have some info about them on a plaque or something like that), so I stopped listening to Blathers.
I used to listen to his facts, but I generally donated critters in bulk after catching everything new in a month, so naturally, I stopped reading them.
It's unfortunate that we're not able to read about the critters on plaques as we walk through the Museum, like how it works in the art wing. To be honest, I would much rather read about the critters instead of which character on what day donated them...
I occasionally listen to Blathers' facts, but only if I have time. After like the 100th time it starts to get old. I always feel bad if I don't listen, though! Like I've hurt his feelings. So lately I'm making more of an effort to listen, haha!
I always do. I'm the type of person that enjoys watching documentaries hahaha. I read rather fast so I have no problem with how much he rambles on about the bugs and fishes in question.
Absolutely. Blathers' dialogue is a complete treat and gives him so much character. I love how he rambles with some creatures and says lots of things about them while others get little bits. The differences between bugs, fish and sea creatures is wonderful and I appreciate how he overcomes his dislike of bugs to do his job and inform you. The dialogue also let him crack some jokes and poke fun at some real-life facts, so yeah.
usually I'll say no if I'm just trying to get the item donated and move back to whatever I was doing before I lose my train of thought, but sometimes if I'm feeling nice I'll listen to it! although with bugs I almost always say no because I feel less bad turning him down then
I do if I’m only donating one thing and it’s a fish or sea creature! Sometime I’ll listen to a bug fact if the bug is cute, otherwise I skip cause Blathers always seems so relieved when I do. With the fish/sea creatures I listen cause he always seems so sad when I say I’m busy
I really miss how in New Leaf the exhibits would tell you about the animal or bug! I absolutely adore how the museum in New Horizons looks but I hate how I can’t read about the creatures while looking at them.
I confess that I was a Biology major and to this day I often blather on about random organisms to my husband. So to me Blathers is a kindred spirit. I always enjoy listening to what Blathers has to say about the animals and donate them one at a time to make sure I hear all the dialogue. He puts such a humorous spin on facts I already know, and in the cases where it is actually new information (I didn't know that crickets have their ears by their knees for example) I'll take a little video. I'll even occasionally choose the option for him to tell me about a critter again (if you have another one in your pocket, click the "tell me about this option" and he'll repeat the facts for that animal, that is the replacement for plaques in this game).
