at first I voted anime because I felt bad for her since she was losing but I just saw a gif on tumblr of a gun being shoved up an anime girl's ass so I would like to retract my vote?

Wooooah, seems like you have reach the dark side of tumblr!

I like both but like others said, it really depends on the content and genre. Each have their pros and cons. But when it comes down to it, it usually depends in my mood. I feel like animation should get more credit, though. Usually with animated films, they get stuck to Best Animated Feature category for awards when I feel like they should be branched out more. That's just me, though. :)

I like both live action movies and anime/animated movies. The content (story, characters, music, etc.) is what matters to me, so whether it is performed by actors or created by artists is of no real concern to me. Writing off an entire art form just because you don't like aspects of certain examples of said art form makes you miss out on a lot of good stuff you might actually enjoy.

I think live action is better than anime. All of animation, however? Animation wins by a looong way.

spirited away is ****

I feel triggered ;-;

Coming from somebody who watches kids cartoons but still somehow manages to live a fulfilling life; you'll learn to not give a **** what others think about your interests in time. Applies to everything from whether or not you play Animal Crossing (a game marketed towards 10 year olds) or watch Super Kawaii Desu: Baka Edition.

I don't even really watch movies that much anymore, which is really sad! Although, when I was younger I definitely preferred animated movies of any sort, but now that special effects and CGI has improved amazingly I love live-action movies! Aaah I can't get enough of a film with just amazing special effects, I'm a bit of a science fiction nerd to be honest, films and literature of that genre are just so amazing to me! I'm talking about you, Star Wars, Rogue One was amazing omg I'd love to get back into watching more films, but as a uni student I never have the time or money these days!

Live action.

I'm a huge anime fan and have been watching anime for longer than some people on these forums have been alive. But, honestly, with the exceptions of things like Studio Ghibli, Satoshi Kon, and a select other small number - I feel like in general anime movies tend to be disappointing. Most of the best anime are TV shows.

Nearly all of the best movies are non-Japanese animated ones (Disney, etc) or live action ones.

Animated movies are my favorite, but I also enjoy live action and anime so I probably should have just picked the third option. I don't really understand the hype surrounding Studio Ghibli movies. The art is good. There's definitely creativity in there. I just feel like a lot of the movies lack a solid plot and build up to a climax.

As an aspiring animator, I naturally love animated movies, including anime, more than live action. LA is alright, but it just doesn't have the same feeling animation does.

*sheathes katana* nothing personal
