Do you reckon there would be more amiibo support on ac switch?

I always thought it was weird how the Kirby franchise never really had any items or amiibo items in new leaf. It would have been awesome to have king dedede as a villager.

What do you guys think?

I think it would be neat to see Star Fox villagers and items in AC Switch. The main characters are ANIMALS for crying out loud.

I collect it all so I would be thrilled if there was more tbh

Even before I had any, a lot of people help out with what you want to get. It’s not really a “neh neh neh you can’t have this” kind of thing, except for requiring villagers’ cards to move them in. But back in my day getting the villagers you wanted was hard anyways, so, I dunno.

I doubt it as posted in other topics by me. They started utilizing Amiibo less than they started with and I foresee that trend continuing. I think they will continue with Amiibo but perhaps for easier unlocks and not limiting a lot of items/villagers to them. I'm not saying there will be no support but it won't be as bad as certain older games.

I would hope so mainly because i have a little collection of them for villager move ins. We'll see what happens regarding this though.

I like the way they work in Welcome amiibo, with the move-ins, and if they added some more special villagers for Nintendo characters that would be cool but I wouldn't want the functionality to go past that.

Since the cards were a failure during the time they were actually in stores, and change the gameplay so dramatically (Really? Bringing your villagers back from the void when its effectively impossible to in non-TT gameplay?) I'm leaning on them not being reissued. I do hope to see more figure villagers, which feel like cool, isolated loyalty perks akin to event legends instead of just "buy any character you want".

I'm a little astonished we don't have a Pikachu rabbit. My reach request is for a Mew cat :)

I presume the Sanrio Cards will get restocked so that all Zelda, Splatoon, and Sanrio villagers could be invited again. Maybe more amiibo villagers will be available.

And tbh I don't really mind Amiibo, only thing that annoyed me was the fact you couldn't trade/giveaway the Amiibo villagers who weren't WA cards.

I'm hoping for no amiibo involvement at all except for items.

I agree with this. But if you want particular villagers to move in or not, you should be able to have control of that, maybe not through amiibo, but through mayoral features.

I think there will be a bit more amiibo functionality. I'd like to bring people back from the void, and a few new Nintendo based characters. Like a falcon based off King Dedede, or Fox Mcloud from Starfox. Oh, and also a pack 6 or whatever for all the new characters.

Oh yeah and make them easier to get to them. I really hate paying $12 per pack when I remember getting them in the beginning for $6.

They already have the animal models, just a re-texture and they could do so many Nintendo characters like donkey kong as well as star fox crew :S

Mew would be pretty decent based off a cat :) but would an axolotl suit Mew more? It's the animal Dr Shrunk is based off.

I think we'll be able to. Doesn't the Switch have the scan thingy for amiibos? I don't really know why people are so against it because it used to take a while to get your dreamies. I hope that we can get all the villagers naturally with an option to use amiibos for the people that want to.

I have another proposal..

Tom Nook- you can now open a loot box for 6 dollars which allows 3 random villagers to move into your town. this is perfectly acceptable, yes?

Tom Nook, stealing money out of your wallet since 2001.

Most likely despite the fact Nintendo no longer produces amiibo cards. I bet Nintendo is encouraging people to scalp others online or have someone make a replica of it instead.

Please don't encourage Nintendo to do this. I know it's probably a joke but I really hope they don't do these loot box things EVER.

I hope there is.
I've got so many cards and figures.
It would be a shame to have only ever used them on New Leaf.

Oh god no. I'd go crawling back to New Leaf if this were the case.

Amiibo support is huge for Nintendo, so that's not going anywhere. I'm not sure if they're gonna issue reprints of the rarer cards or what, but I am very certain that they will work exactly like they do in New Leaf. Mostly because that code is already there. They might make changes to it and add features and remove some but we still will be able to invite villagers and buy items. It's almost a guarantee.
