Do you reckon there would be more amiibo support on ac switch?

I wouldn't mind if the new game supports amiibos like the Welcome amiibo version of New Leaf does.
I would really like it if there would be new amiibo items based of other games, like we got with the
Splatoon and TloZ ones. The idea of Star Fox and Kirby based villagers and items sounds pretty
good, what I would love to see are Pokemon based villagers and items. After all, the majority of
Pokemon are based of animals, so I'm pretty sure they could make some good looking Pokemon
based villagers. Also, I want a Pokeball item that your character can hold in the hands, just like
a wand for example. Some special villagers that aren't from a game like the Sanrio once would
be nice too.

i would love it! especially the cards so they can produce more. you cant really buy them here anymore :/

I'm probably biased because I own all the figures and quite a few cards, but I would hope that there are some benefits to using the amiibo again. I also hope this prompts Nintendo to reprint the RV and Sanrio cards, especially the latter since I missed them and I really can't justify the current price.

I wouldn't mind seeing the AC amiibos return since I have the cards of my favourites (although I think I'd like them to have the ability to move out before the entire town is filled with amiibos), but I'm not a fan of the Sanrio/Splatoon/Zelda villagers; I feel they take away from the AC atmosphere and it feels weird to see others' towns filled with those villagers. I think things from other series should be kept out, but it doesn't matter too much to me about whether the actual AC amiibos are compatible since I don't know if I'd use them anyway but it would be a nice option after having a town for a while.

It's a shame that the scalpers ruined the Amiibo experience for so many - but I really hope they continue Amiibo support. Anything that adds more customization and control over your town is a plus in my book, and that is one of the best aspects of the Amiibos.

I have all the animal crossing amiibo so I hope they are useful for the switch game.

I hope it returns. I like having my favorites in card form so I can bring them over (maybe all my faves just suck but I got most cards under 2 euro) immediately. I feel the only reason amiibo cards failed was timing. Had they of just waited and released them along side the ac switch game they'd have been wildly successful. Since we're now seeing other means of amiibo distribution (like that cereal) I could also see promo amiibo becoming a big thing.

I really hope if I decide to go for a non frog town this time I can get Wade in asap.... he's so ****ing cute! (I'm going to put Tutu right next to him because they should never meet in theory! :p)

I really hope there won't be more amiibo support. I'm happy if they make it similar to New Leaf Welcome amiibo but more than that I don't want. But if anything they'll probably make amiibo less useful because they're great at making amiibo even more useless with each game they release.

I sure hope so. Only really how it's implemented in New Leaf since Welcome Amiibo, though. I love the items and being able to ask villagers to move in. In fact, I love the cards in general, and would really want to see them return to store shelves because I can't find them anymore.

I think it'd be a bit of a waste not to be able to use the cards and amiibos, considering the Switch can very easily read them, and they're already made. I'd be pretty livid if they included functionality but only with new cards / figures, though.

I would love if the cards returned because
1. The move-ins were great in a pinch if a dreamie had unexpectedly moved
2. I spent an embarrassing amount on the Sanrio cards since they never released here as far as I know. I'm a huge Sanrio fan and though the villagers were kind of stale, I loved the items that came with the cards.

I do wish that the cards were still in production, I recently decided I might want to collect them and it seems like I was too late. They're no where to be found in town and online they're way price gouged. For now I guess I'll slowly collect the ones I like the best and fill in any spaces here and there.

I'm hoping that amiibo cards will work towards getting the villagers you want. I enjoyed that feature.

I hope amiibo support returns in the same way it works in HHD and New Leaf: useful, but not required. That way I can still use all my cards, but people who can't get or don't want them don't need to have them to get the full game experience.

I hope so. I'd love to see more villgaers from other franchises in Animal Crossing.

I think we will see some kind of amiibo functionality, and I think it likely there will be some new amiibo cards released, but I don't think we'll see reprintings of any of the earlier series of cards. The issue with the earlier releases is that most of them are still pretty readily available in Japan (on the used market if not new), and so Nintendo isn't going to see the benefit of reprinting any of them just for the international market, when they didn't go well the first time around.

And it's kind of Nintendo's fault that the amiibo cards did badly in the international market - way overpriced (esp. compared to how much they cost in Japan), poor distribution and availability, releasing the first wave at the same time as Happy Home Designer which did well in Japan but didn't do that well elsewhere and didn't provide a compelling enough reason for most people to buy these overpriced and difficult to find cards.

I doubt the Sanrio cards will be reprinted either, I think the point of them was that they were a limited edition one time thing. But it does suck for those who weren't able to get them, especially as they only got released in Japan and then a very brief release in some parts of Europe (I think only direct from the Nintendo shop??), which meant most had no chance to get their hands on them.

If I had to guess, I'd say that we'd see another set of villagers coming out in RVs - maybe some of the current villagers we already have (but not the WA villagers), and maybe some new ones if they add new villagers to the switch game. That way people (mostly people in Japan) who already had all the amiibo cards would still have a reason to buy the new ones. And it would give everyone else another chance to get the villagers they wanted who they missed out on in the earlier series.

I hope they do something with the amiibo cards and figures. Hopefully, they?re not locked to only New Leaf

I think it would be great if people could still use amiibo cards to get specific villagers to move in. However, I really hope that there won't be exclusive furniture tied to amiibo cards again.

I agree with the above, but I am at least glad that you could organise trades and visits to RVs to get what you couldn't on your own. I think there's some merit to that, encouraging trading and all that, but it might be different this time due to the paid online. It might come off to some people as you either having to buy the amiibo or buy the online to get the items. But it might be a little more balanced this time in response to that.

i hope so!! i want more crossover villagers too. a pokemon crossover seems promising with the new pocket camp event
