Do you think animals will be able to wear accessories too?

Maybe so far in the released footage Nintendo have been careful not to spoil the surprise but I don't know...

I could imagine that they can also wear backpacks/bags. After all, I'm happy that they now able to wear accessories too.

I think that hat was specifically for the fishing contest. I remember a mention of something like that where everyone was wearing that little hat during the fishing event.

But for sure on the direct and other gameplays, villagers were shown walking around holding handhelds and such. I feel like it would be similar to pocket camp where they can wear accessories.

Seems like it’s confirmed by the pictures but it hasn’t been confirmed whether we can make them wear what we want or if it’s tied to a specific event or action, etc. For example, the outfits for the fishing tourney or kiki wearing glasses when reading. I think I saw a bear (one of the new ones?) wear a flower hearpin if I’m remembering correctly... and that doesn’t seem specifically tied to an event like the tourney. I hope we are able to suggest stuff to them though! I loved dressing up my villagers in HHD. I definitely wouldn’t like it if clothing choices were randomized or gifted by other villagers like in new leaf. I also wonder if villagers like O’hare will wear a hat on top of their hat lol.

That makes most sense. It's a shame, i'd love to see villagers with hats and backpacks but this is still cute!
Maybe it might be a future update..

At one point we did see Shep under a tree, reading a book and wearing glasses. In the Happy Birthday! Scene, the sheep as well as the new horse, Reneigh, are wearing glasses, and the new purple bear is wearing a flower. For the horse, at least, we know it's not part of her permanent design.

Since we can wear anything we want and change our appearance like in Pocket Camp, maybe animals will sometimes ask us to change their clothes, as well? That'd be nice.
