Do you think the game will do this/would you want it?

(disclaimer- I have not been keeping up with all the new horizon news so im sorry if this was already denied or confirmed)

Do you think we will be able to transfer items of any kind from New Leaf (or pocket camp!) into New Horizons? Would you want this feature to be available? Furniture, flowers, characters, clothes, etc. included!

This thought came to me the other day when I was playing around in Pokemon Home. I am a huge pokemon player and have always enjoyed being able to transfer my pokemon from my old games up to the newest game. This made me wonder if new horizons was going to do something similar to connect with old games and/or the existing app!

I don't think they would do that just because they don't want people who don't have the other games to be at a disadvantage. Plus there may be a lot of incompatible pieces or it could potentially be difficult transporting items between games.

From what I understand, some items will be available from PC, but not sure about New Leaf.

I could see maybe a collab event for Pocket Camp eventually, but I don't know about transferring stuf from NL to New Horizions. I think if the whole point of a deserted island is to start from scratch they're not going to give you the option to get stuff the easy way.

Yeah thats a good point. In the pokemon games you cant transfer pokemon initially and have to wait until after you have completed the story to bring your past pokemon to the present game. So since Animal Crossing doesn't have a set "end game" I can see how they would struggle to incorporate this.

Pocket Camp maybe, but not New Leaf. But I doubt they'll have you earn items in one game for you to receive them in the other - they want people to play both gamed by themselves while encouraging people to play both.

I don't think there will be any kind of transfer. However, I think there are a few specific items that will go from New Horizons to Pocket Camp, which are island themed, and a few that will go from Pocket Camp to New Horizons, which are camp / O.K. Motors themed. They'll probably be connected through the Nintendo account.

I honestly DO hope ACPC doesn't allow items to be transferred, because that would lead to some items like Fortune Cookie items making ACNH have microtransactions by proxy.

I don't think there will be any sort of transfer in the game. But, we do have items that were first featured in Pocket Camp. Like backpacks. So, I wouldn't be surprised if there were items that were at least inspired by what we had in Pocket Camp. Like, I saw a blue dress with a white apron with the card suits on the bottom of the apron. That's basically a higher quality Alice in Wonderland inspired dress like the one that was in Pocket Camp.

i would love if that were an option as pocket camp had some amazing items, but i don’t see that being something they’d be implementing anytime soon

I seriously doubt this will happen. It would be hard to make this work. The only reason you can transfer Pokemon, for example, is they had to make separate services (Pokemon Bank + Pokemon Home) to help facilitate this. Animal Crossing likely won't have anything like this. It's not worth their time. For Pokemon it is because of the time it takes to build competitive Pokemon.

There are certain items that I really hope make their return in New Horizons, either being directly obtainable in the base game or added via update or (preferably free) DLC later. But I don't think my version that exists in New Leaf will transfer.
