Do you think we will ever get more design slots?

They let us upgrade our storage so I'm hoping this isn't too much of a stretch. I do enjoy the challenge of curating the 50 best patterns for my island, but it would be nice to have more versatility.

What would you do if you had more slots? Most of my slots are used up by pathing and forest floor details, and fabric patterns for blankets and cushions. I wish I could have more slots to use on simple panels so that I can have a shelf for my bakery.

Well, I sure hope so, because I don't have any left. I've already gotten rid of some that I wanted, to make room for patterns that I wanted even more. I would be thrilled if we got even just 10 more slots. Any amount would be so handy. And if they do give us more, I hope we can buy them with nook miles. I have 570k, and nothing to spend them on.

I think I'm the only person who doesn't need more design slots. I don't even use most of the designs I have saved. It would be nice to get more for everyone that wants it though.

I don’t think that they will. Back in ACNL, we got additional secret storage for our items and they have done something similar here. However, in NL I don’t remember there being a pattern slot update (please correct me if wrong). Therefore, I’m not going to get my hopes up.

There was not, but on NL, you could have different slots across all of your player characters, unlike NH. So it currently still operates differently from NL ... Maybe there's hope yet.

I mean, it'd be nice but I think I'm at a point where I'm okay with what we have. I guess for me, I'm struggling on what more I could add and I can't think of much unless they add more tablecloth options? Idk.

Like I was hoping the turkey day table could have a custom design attached to its table cloth.

I NEED them. I could really do so much more with extra slots. The way it is now, I always have to settle for less than what my island could be :/

i'm not holding out hope or anything but i really hope they give us more even if it does cost igb. i ran out of spots way too quickly thanks to my decision to use two 9-slot paths for my island...

I would guess it's a memory/loading issue. The more pattern slots you use and put down, the more the game needs to load/keep track of every time you're running around outside. The lag can already be pretty bad for some people, I imagine it would only get worse with additional patterns.

i hope so! alot of folks think that we might get quality of life updates after the anniversary since all the holidays will be in game at that point, so maybe then?

I hope so. It's possible Nintendo doesn't doesnt due to how large the save size already is. Also unless I'm mistaken, everytime a player joins the town in multiplayer, they have to download a copy of all your designs along with the town to memory (RAM)

i’m not sure if we’ll ever get more but i really hope we do! i’ve currently got about 6 free slots and narrowing down which designs to choose has been difficult - at this point, an expansion would be incredibly sexy.
