do you track your spending?

I try to. I make attempts to set a budget for things that I want to buy. I do have a pretty good system when it comes to budgeting for groceries.

I don't make enough to mindlessly spend, that's for sure. I track everything in a notepad because it's so little on both sides currently.
Once I find a proper job the goal is to seperate my saving and then spend the rest freely after bills, insurances and all those things.

Nope, or at least not in the way described here. When my pay comes in I immediately pay the mortgage, bills, my PT, and order groceries and pet supplies. After that I move all except £100 to another account.

I give myself access to small amounts of my disposable income at a time in order to help me manage it better. It makes me aware of how much I'm spending throughout the month and warn me if I'm burning through it too fast. But I don't track individual purchases.

no ! i am an INSANELY impulsive spender as well

fortunately i am paid well and have a lot in savings (mostly thanks to ppl dying), i also have a standing order to move £200 over to my savings acct each month but i am genuinely concerned about my spending habits sometimes esp in this economic climate, so much so that starting from monday i'm gonna be keeping a close eye on my outgoings and rly try and do better so i don't retire and have no way of enjoying life

i think i will try your method, i'm sure it may be shocking to look at but i rly do need to sort my finances out

I monitor my spending very closely. I'm trying to save up to buy a condo, so I try to make sure I'm not spending my money too frivolously.

i used to write down everything i spent money on in the notes app. that became depressing🥲 so now i just quickly toss all my physical receipts in a binder for future use.

I don't track my spending, but when I pay with card, it shows up on my bank account anyway, so most of my spendings are more or less automatically tracked. Either way I don't see any benefits in tracking my spending beyond that, since I can handle it just fine!

no, i don't track my spending. i check my bank app every so often to see what i've got going on with my card transactions but that's about it. i reckon that i'm kind of alright at allocating myself money to spend in a month and sticking to it

Yes lol, but I'm a very organised person so it kinda comes naturally to me.

I only track my bill payments and credit card purchases. Otherwise, I don't really track how much I spend. BUT, I do keep track of the amount of cash left in my wallet every day so I know when to stop.

For most of my life no, but since buying my house I started to keep a spreadsheet of my recurring bills, large furniture purchases, and smaller pleasure purchases. It's very interesting to analyze my spending for the first time, and helps me keep it in check as well.

I have an app I use intermittently but I always stop using it once I know I'm at risk of going over my budget 😔 I don't like to be faced with the consequences of my actions. I'm in an okay enough position right now where I can always pay my rent and bills with no problem, but I have a credit card balance I'd like to dedicate at least half my income toward every month. It's not currently accruing interest though so I don't feel threatened enough by it to stop making bad financial decisions. Once I live with my girlfriend I'll keep better track of it all, I find it easier to be more responsible with my money when I'm taking her into account as well.
