I like to keep the same wall and floor in every room except the bathroom.

It's just that there are no decent walls or flooring in NH.

The ones I wanted go as far back as WW.

my island representative is the only one with a normal house, and there isn't much of a theme there apart from dark wood and homey vibes. I use the ironwood set in the kitchen, den stuff in the office, antique furniture in the bedroom, and mixed seasonal furniture (turkey day dining set, sunflower rug, seasonal decorations) in the living room. the basement has magic themed furniture since she's a witch

all of my alts' houses have a purpose so their rooms match a little more - one is a japanese hotel so it has mostly imperial and wooden furniture, another is a restaurant so it has mostly diner furniture, and the last one is a rec center so it has a mix of gym, park, and sports furniture

I tried having my house be all the same theme and like props to those who make it work lol it was so hard. Now my rooms are all different, the left room is the bedroom, back is bathroom, right is study, main room is like a lounge, upstairs is kitchen and dining room and downstairs, well...we don’t talk about the basement lol

The main floor and 3 small side rooms are all cohesive with a traditional messy house vibe, but then the upstairs & basement have a different theme. They are more so a natural green zen vibe.

My house doesn't have a cohesive theme. My rooms are differently themed (i.e. my back room is Bunny Day themed, 2nd floor is mermaid/seashell themed) without much reasoning behind them aside from "I just felt like putting it together that way", lol.

currently just trying to have my house looking like a house - so dining room, kitchen, living room etx, but each rooms theme then varies. Currently waiting for the sanrio stuff to come out so i can get the kiki and lala stuff and make a super soft and dreamy bedroom, and then turn my bathroom into like ocean themed

I don't really think about it much. I had a themed house once but now the houses are mostly a bit of hodgepodge.

My rooms aren't unified by a single theme. I just try to make each room look what it's supposed to look: kitchen, bedroom, living room, bathroom, etc.

I voted for 'other' because each room sits under one theme but aren't similar to each other. I go for more story and mood when I decorate my interior spaces.

Yes and no. Each room has its own flavor, but I've tried to make them feel like they belong in the same house.

Right now, the main living room warm wood, greys, and browns. It sounds dull, but it's cozy and rather lightened up from the dark red I had over the winter.

The left room is the kitchen, done in pinks, soft blues, and white. It's one of my favorite rooms.

The bathroom is pink and white, but I may change it. Not sure I really love it.

The right room never changes. That's my stillroom. Lots of plants, a chemistry set, gears, etc. Just what a Kitchen Witch needs.

Upstairs is my bedroom. For spring, I went with yellow. It's cheerful and happy.

The basement also never changes. That's my Hufflepuff common room, and I treat it as separate from the rest of the house.

It's really nice reading about how everyone has decorated their homes, its been a while since I've done some dreaming in the game but think I'm going to recheck the address thread to see if I can visit some of these lovely sounding homes :giggle:

I have one island home which I did some redecorating in earlier today that has two living areas (main room and basement), two bedrooms (upstairs and back room) and one kitchen and a bathroom in the two side rooms. Each room has its own individual theme that is either based around a furniture set or is designed around the wallpaper that I'm using in the room though the house as a whole doesn't follow a cohesive theme and all the rooms look quite different from each other.

From previously visiting dream addresses to view some great islands a particular favourite of mine is @annex's (shared on the dream dress thread) who has some really nicely themed rooms throughout the island homes, all of which are very well decorated :D
Thank you. I'm so glad you liked them. I've spent so much time decorating my houses. I wasn't sure if anyone had visited because my Nintendo app won't show how many dream visits I've had. It's been stuck at 67 for many months now.

My rep's house is always a standard house with the essentials like a kitchen/bathroom/bedroom etc. Initially I had each room to be a solid colour scheme, like my living room was all red, my bathroom was all gold, my music room was pink etc. But now I'm changing it up a bit so it's not too intense.

Mine aren't "themed" in the direct sense. Since my chapel house is part of my island's story, each room has a function as a sailor's chapel. I have a main room that's a lobby area, a chapel greenhouse, the chapel's kitchen, a bedroom/bathroom for the chapel's caretaker, and two other rooms that serve to further the island's story. The room behind the lobby is a room dedicated to storytelling and the basement is a funeral room dedicated to the island's saint.

My other player character's houses are similar when it comes to function. One house serves as the island's pub and inn and the other is a marine scientist's house.

They all look very different and there are also lots of different furniture set items in each room, I hate that each set has only like 4 or 5 different pieces each.

I may go in detail here but I have 8 users on my island who are named after the characters from Kingdom Hearts and I given them different color themes on their homes:

Sora (myself): All Blue Rooms and items

Roxas: All Green Rooms and items

Ventus: Green/Blue Rooms and items

Riku: Blue and Black Rooms and items

Kairi: Red and Pink Rooms and items

Aqua: Black and Blue Rooms and Items

Axel: Red and Black Rooms and items

Xion: Black and Purple Rooms and items.

If you guys want to see what the homes look like I have a dream address in my signature if you want to check it out.

In my house each room has it's own theme. The living room is very white and pink and pastel. The right room is a bathroom and it's an all black room with that amazing black whirlpool tub. The left room is the kitchen and it's very cutesy as well it's the yellow heart wallpaper with a lot of the white ironwood kitchen furniture and the white kitchen island, it looks very mid century modern. The back room is what I call the red room, everything in it is red or red with black accents and it's the diy room. The upstairs is a pink and pastel cute bedroom. The basement has the magma wallpaper and floor with a kinda dungeony vibe and i made it to look like something from Diablo.

My house has no theme and honestly most of my rooms don't have a theme either. D: It's kind of a mess more than anything else. Currently in my house I'm in the process of trying to make my main floor more of a living area type space and then the upstairs room is a bedroom. I might set up one of the smaller rooms as a sort of sewing area, maybe? At the moment the small room on the left has a bunch of spooky furniture lol and the one on the right has some of the turkey day items! The small back room and basement are empty.

In my New Leaf town every room had a different set in it, save for my main room which was more of just a living room and had a mashup of different furniture in it. Upstairs was the sweets set, basement was the princess set. On the left most room of the house was the ice set, the back room had the flower (I think it was called the weeding day set?) set, and then the right side was the Jingle/Christmas set but this room is one that I would change depending on the holiday, I just haven't played for a while.

With New Horizons I find it trickier to decorate my rooms for two reasons.

A.) The sizes are awkward. I find the main room is okay to decorate, the upstairs and the basement are the most flexible in terms of size, but all the three side rooms? I have no idea. They're awkwardly small, in my opinion. I would love to be able to upgrade the sizes. I don't even necessarily need or want them to all be the same size as the basement and upstairs! I would like to have the back room be basement size and make that a kitchen/maybe with a combined dining area, and then have the two side rooms be the same size as the main area.

B.) There's not enough interior furniture. I don't think there's enough full furniture sets to have my house done the same way I did in New Leaf but I'm also not sure if there is enough full sets to even have a more "traditional" themed house? I don't know if there are full kitchen and bathroom sets but I could be mistaken.

while my rooms are pretty random design-wise, they all fit a pastel theme of sorts.

I have set up about 4 rooms all completely different not finished yet but I am just not finding inspiration on designing my home :(
